Default 6.5 sintered motor

As the title says, not to much cash either.... the 5.5's are just a little TOO rapid for my local clubs track....

PM me

i think that was a little bit of a flaw in the track design - and the laptimes would come to whoever had the b***cks to flatstick that section. and you seemed to have fairly large ones from where i was standing

i'll definately be protesting if that feature appears again - it was a little silly, and i'm amazed more cars didn't break!

the marshalling point under the rostrum needs more grip as well...

yes, having a Tamiya gives you Buster Gonad size testicles with those sections!!! It was a tad blind, but far better than going up and down all the time.

cobra - heath park, cardiff.

twas a cracking day - the sun was out but it wasn't sweltering, there was tons of grip, and I fell flat on my face whilst marshalling.

the top straight caused a few problems, as there was a nasty ridge which tended to fling the back end up into the air, between trees, and it was a bit of a lottery. but it was the same for everyone. the gamble was whether to attack the section flat and risk cartwheeling into the side of a tree, or back off and lose a bit of time. there were lots of different approaches to that section, but only 2 of the 4wd runners had the 'cojones' to attack it flat

usually the trees are used as hairpin apexes (and if you cut in too close, it's off camber). there's also some cool multi surface action going on, from grass to astro to compacted dirt. getting the apex right and nailing it on the exit is very satisfying, as you get nice rally-style dirt kickups from the tyres

more people need to get down to the club - it never fails to deliver entertainiment!

Ah, but as DCM's advert suggests, outright power isn't much help there!

Dose it still have the 180 around the dirt section tree and then the tight S section around the dirt/astro/ rubber section trees? Loved that section going tight to the trees and setting the car up before the reverse camber tree was always rewarding

I always had a fear of hitting one of the metal fence posts going down the straight but you had to go wide to avoid all the bumps and the fact a 9 single would find them all for you. 

I had to gear down one tooth to make it stoppable at the end of the straight..... then it had so much out of the corner.... it is back down to 70%, I know, old fart syndrome.... but it is still seriously quick....

there's nothing scheduled for this weekend, I don't know if that's to allow the grass to recover or because there's a national on... but I really want to race this weekend as well, be it at cobra or anywhere else reasonably close.
