A lot of people don't bother to cut the inner rib of. Doesn't look so clean , but is probbably stronger too.

What's the benefit of using hex wheels on the front of a 2wd car over the standard bearing fitment?

Relief of the aggravation of having to stab yourself in the hand

bit of common sence would see the wheel placed on a hard surface, not soft flesh!!

Put them on the 2nd rib out on the wheel, or cut the row off with a dremel

Instead of a dremel, I just use an old dulled pair of lexan (bodyshell trimming) scissors. Trims them neat as you please.

next best thing to cutting em ins tyre truer or lathe.

Yeh all sorted now. Score them around three or four times with a stanley knife then they trim off really easy. Thanks everyone for the advice.
