Hi mate thanks for your reply
My pc's power supply has failed
So it doesnt work at all
I've just tried to adjust my 120amp HW and the program box says that it needs a software upgrade.
If I try a friends program box that is on more recent software it says no also!
I take it i need to upgrade it by connecting it to a pc???
Cheers

- Yeah m8, you need a pc or laptop that is running. What esc are you running?? 2.1 - 3 - 2.0

If you have the pro programe card only the very latest software version does not work with the 2.1esc's and down, so that sounds a little odd. If you are round the fareham area come tomy place amd do it there. U have a programe card and pc to work on. To get you up and going.

I have never updated the firmware since having some speed passion early software added back in the day
Such a shame it looses data as It worked fine for me
And a massive shame that you cannot update from your smart phone

You would think the firmware would stay in the box.
What is the difference between the way the home pc/laptop do this
And the iPhone ?

im not 100% sure but i think the latest reventon speedos were going to have iphone /ipad remote facility at some point

if i am correct in in reading your post the v2 is what you have i made a mistake of downloading latest firmaware onto LCD program box then lcd box wouldnt talk to speedo telling me i needed to upgrade software

on rechecking on my PC there are two sets of software one for the v3 hobbywing and one for the v2/v2.1 version speedo i reloaed correct one all is well

unfortunately this is not much good advice if your pc is in a coma

regards fid

AFAIK, it isn't possible to use any 'phone to do what the programming box does. It has to do with the sofware in the 'phones not being compatible with what needs to be done, and that it cannot send the right signals out through the connectors they have.

Tekin did try it a couple of years back, but they had to give up because they could not make the 'phones do what they wanted. Perhaps someone with a better technical understanding can explain it better!

If it could have been done, I am sure it would have been done by now.

Tekin just didn't see the need or the hardware can't do it
Speed passion made it work and i had to have it with the speed passion
r as the first pc software was rubbish and need to change firmware
The speedpassion reventons have the hardware to do it
The iPhone just needs the app and wifi/ Bluetooth link its then down to the esc
to be able to read the signal

Many phones can now act as a USB host and allow the connection of mice and keyboards, etc so an app could now be written by Tekin, Hobbywing, LRP, etc if they wanted to.

as i said it might be down to the hardware inside the esc, speedpassion were asked if you could use the reventon esc bluetooth or wifi unit with the gt pro 2
and they said no the circuit board just cant make the link so thats y the reventon is the only one so far that does a iphone app to do setup up

so you might not see it for a while why make a completely new esc if your current is to good to replace

you might see it in other brands if speedpassions takes off big time and the next gen of esc will have the hardware

also it will always be a unit u plug into ur esc as its would make 1/10th esc too big if it was built in
