Default Losi 22 electrics

I'm very much a newbie, I've just ordered a Losi 22 and have been trawling this site as well as the rest of the net on what to fit it out with.I've been to my local club and they all use 7.5t motors and spectrum transmitters. Obviously cost is an issue, so heres what I have in mind, will any of these have compatibility issues.

Spectrum DX3C transmitter with SR 300 receiver. (I have been advised (cheers Lee) to get a DSM2 receiver but thats a future plan due to cost).
Spectrum S6070 servo (due to it being low profile), planning on mid motor build.
Speed passion V3 motor 7.5t
R10 vortex ESC.

Will all these fit in the 22 in mid motor config? What size/shape/capacity batteries will fit/suit this set up. Is there anything else I have missed or need?

Cheers

you could go for hobbywing xerun esc 60a-sd. you can get it from giant shark for £60. other servo choice is savox 1251mg.

i bought the lipo shorty battery from hobbyking.com http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...APPROVED_.html

or you can use any "shorty" Lipo pack. I am not sure if saddle pack will fit in.

Saddle lipos will fit also. If cost is an issue then have you considered the Dualsky 550 esc? At £65 it's a bargain, really small (will fit on that tiny plate above the motor) and many people are raving about them at the moment.

Thanks guys, do savox servos have compatibility issues with spectrum receivers? The link to the battery is an american site, I'll do a bit of googling to see if they're readily available in the UK. I'm also googling that ESC as well so thanks again for the advice, however from the gear I've mentioned in my original thread would this be suitable as well?

I've never had a problem using a Savox with a Spektrum receiver. The gear you've listed will work fine, but you have got plenty of options.

That's half the problem LOL!
To a newbie its a bit daunting, I'd hate to buy something that isn't right.
Thanks again.

Just googled the savox 1251 and it sounds spot on and is £20 cheaper, but their does seem to be a lot of compatibility issues with spectrum receivers on the net and the need for a capacitor or bec to steady out the voltage in the ESC. Anyone had any problems?

Yup, loads of issues with savox/Spektrum/R10 combo suffering brown-outs, even with a cap. Switched from Spectrum to Sanwa and my problems went away...

I like the sound of your set up its similar to what i ran in my 22.

Im guessing the reciever you are talking about it the micro reciever that spektrum do and the R10 fits in very nicely and the length of wires are perfect! The low profile servo is also great as i ran a savox low profile and 7.5 is also a good starting point... In my view a great set up!!!

I don't think its the micro just the sr300 so I don't think its that small but its included with the transmitter and cost dictates it at the minute I'm afraid.
