Default Rc10 gold tub advice needed please.

I recently bought an old rc10 from the USA. Car arrives in a bit of a state etc so my intention is to restore it to a car that's not totally original etc but more of a pleasing to the eye car.
Problem I have is, car arrives with stealth gearbox on a 'b' chassis which is in quite a sad state all scratched etc, so I bought a gold pan chassis 'a' stamped, In quite nice condition, the 'a' chassis doesn't come pre drilled for the stealth box, should I drill the chassis and countersink to fit the stealth, or try and find a complete old 6 gear gearbox??

It's your car dude. Do you want to race it or shelf it? If it were mine it's a no brainer as I have a couple of runners already So i'd be shelving this so i wouldnt drill the chassis i'd just find and fit a 6 gear tranny. But I think the stealth box is better for a runner in which case if your old chassis is straight (just not very pretty) I'd leave it as it is and not even use the "A" chassis.

If you want the chassis, motor mount and nose powder coated we could sort something out. Cant do gold, however i have got satin black which is pretty close to the associated black annodising. Thats what i've done to several tubs now.

I would keep the A chassis and slowly build up the parts you need to turn this into the shelf queen. It quickly becomes an obsession!

If you want a runner, definitely use a stealth gearbox, which will handle brushless motors and lipos. You can use the B4 top shaft and slipper too without any modification.

The 6 gear is much more of a challenge if you want to run with high power.

Check out rc10talk for everything you want to know about restoring or updating rc10s.

Caine, are you able to carry out powder coating then? Could you PM me with some details as I have been looking to powder coat some rc10 stuff for a while.

I have a complete 6 Gear tranny and mount in great condition that I have been thinking about selling if you were interested.
I drilled my chassis to accept a stealth.....not too hard if you take your time, measure 10 times and drill once!!
