Default I dont beileve what I found out just now..501x information

If anyone remebers the goldpan rc-10 I managed to find out
the spur gear balls found on an early model rc-10 like I have
fit a TA-05 pulley. The pulley is going in my 501x though.

This is just amazing. Associated brand diff balls in a tamiya pulley.
Cool!!

what??

After I found this out the TC5 pulley fits alot better.
The stock 501x diff balls will fit a TC5 40tooth pulley.
And my ceramic bearings fit the TC5 pulley also.

Sorry if I annoyed you.

In your first post, you say TA-05 pulley, now in your post above you say TC5 pulley.

1. How does whatever pulley "fit better" ?

2. Why not use Tamiya parts the car is meant to use?

My freekin hobby shop cannot get those in.

I know it is sad Aaron. I might order some later on thru tamiya's website
and run the Tungsten diff balls you recommended on rctech to me.

I might have to gear up a few teeth. But maybe not because the track
isnt that big. 37 tooth front and 40 tooth rear?

3 teeth difference...

Have you tried the front one-way yet?

My front one-way has not seen any action. It's still for sale if you want it for cheap.

Cool

Well If your not using it, then I suppose I dont need to either right?

I get so much traction with the pink taper pins at reo and Albion,
that I dont think it would make a difference at all.

I ran the stock diff balls for a few packs and there is some wear on the diff plates, but I will flip them around to the newer side when I change to tugsten.

I have not offically raced the 501x yet, but will for the first time this Friday. Since Reo changed the schedule for people.

That a way we can race at Golfland on Sat.
Gonna be a great local racing season.

You do know that AE don't 'make' thier own diff balls and just buy in 'standard' sizes?

I heard they use other manufacturers wishbones because I've seen those from the B4 on other cars as well. I know for a fact they make their own bearings though because I got some with the AE header card on the packet.
