Default FS2 / FS2SP upper shock nuts

Its plastic - it looks crap - can I replace it - if so what anondized size nut will fit. Do I need to replace the shock upper shock screw. Little confused as an M3 nut does not fit. I assume it has to be plastic?

THanks

I normally run the bolt through the shock top bush, any spacer then the plain nut, through the tower and then into an M3 lock nut (I use steel ones as they are cheap and reliable).

Doing it this way gives you 2 things;

1) MUCH less likely for the shock screw to dig into the ground and thus less likely to break a tower in a roll.
2) If I want to change up shock positions I only have to loosen 1 fastener not 2, means I can get my man to do it during a warmup before a run if needed should say the heavens open
