Default Noob question on tyres

Hi All

I am new here and quite new to RC cars. Did a bit of RC bikes 20+ years ago but have my first car built, a B44.1 which is quite scary. Looking forward to racing and learning how to drive

I will be racing on outdoor astro turf and indoor carpet and have been recommended Ballistic Buggy Greens or Pinks outdoor and Schumacher mini pin yellows for indoor carpet. I have a question about the std tyre that came in the kit, Proline Holeshots, are they any good for either use? What are they best for?

TIA

Gareth

Dirt a a lot of USA races are on dirt. Yellow Schumacher spikes work on dry astro ballistic are manly when wet

Save them for testing outside your house, handy checking your tracking and stuff.

Outdoors dry - Schuey yellow minispikes
Outdoors wet - Ballistic greens or pinks (I prefer pink rears, with Schuey mini-pins on the front)
Indoors - Schuey yellow mini-pins

The kit proline holeshots will be the control tyre for the new RHR dirt track for the oople Invernational . Lots of people are saving them up, as they are ~£12/pair new. Keep them or ebay them if you aren't planning to use them. They will last all of 5 mins on tarmac for practice, so a waste. Use old schy yellow tyres for practice on tarmac. You'll go through them quick enough running on astro.

Use schuy yellow mini spikes in the dry. greens or ballistic greens or pinks in wet. pinks won't last as long on astro, but do grip well on wet grass.

Cheers Neal

I will throw them on some rims and keep them, never know when I might find a dirt track. Might take it on a trip to the USA and would probably see mostly dirt there.

I had my first raceday today, a very soggy astro circuit and the BB Greens seemed fine after 20 mins drying out time but during the race the rain came again and it was a little slippy so a set of pinks just in case maybe.

Did OK and didn't break anything can't wait for the next meeting
