Hi,
Our club currently use mainly sand filled hoses. These were stored somewhere damp so now the sand has moisture in it which makes them extremely heavy. We have recently filled a few new hoses with plastic injection moulding pellets which worked exceptionally well, however extremely expensive. Does any know where we can purchase a large amount of pellets or re-grind cheap? Or, any other ideas on what to fill the hoses with to keep the price and weight reasonable? Thanks in advance, Matt

My sister in law works for a concrete firm in London, if you need gravel/sand etc, just let me know.

Well I guess sand won't be as heavy this time as the hoses won't get damp where they're now and they're are also thinner. Bring some along on Tuesday for a test if you like?

Pea gravel, used to fill the fire hose at Oxon years ago, normal DIY, Builders Merchants or B&Q or possibly better in Wickes, comes in bags like sand. (Buy 10 for £1.53 each @ Wickes)
same sort of price, you will need a funnel and a couple of strong arms. |
