Was this car once a Cat2000 and converted to the EC? i ask, because the red shell is the Cat2000 shell meant for the stood up shocks which were mounted on the back of the tower.

The converted car runs longer wishbones and therefore a narrow rear hinge pin brace, whereas the true EC had a wider rear with shorter wishbones (and it handled better for it).

Whichever it is, its a legend. The best car Schumacher ever made!

No the car is a proper cat2000 EC. When I ordered the bodyshell i got the wrong one so i have just cut the back of the shell to match the shap of the EC shell I already had

Couldn't agree more !!

I'll top that : perhaps the best 4WD ever made !

I still run mine even though I have a brand new ZX5.

In a way, the ZX5 is a lot like the CAT2000 : you HAVE to buy some options to make it work reliably .

IMHO, the Lazer is a more fragile then the CAT, especially the shock towers and the drivetrain, but I love the responsiveness of the Lazer. Also the Kyosho shocks demand as much attention like the original Schumacher CAT shocks.
