Default RE: control tyres

Hi,
Does anyone know what the control tyre is now... I am sure it was dBoots or Schu's mini pins but not clear now.
Thanks.

Hi,

Got 9 spaces for TORCH, I'll be up there Friday early. Can I put names down on tables for them?

Cheers,

Mike

If I understood John correctly when I spoke to him about this the drill is;

When you arrive find John or one of the Ardent crew and pay them £10 per bench (each bench has 10 pit spaces on ... if you only want 5 spaces you either have to club together with 5 other people or, well tough luck ...) .... not so bad for you as you will only have the 1 space to sub let ,
THEN go an put the names out on the benches (if you do that bit before you pay don't be suprised to find one of the other Ardent guys has put your name tags in a special bin for you).

Now I know some people are going to say "why should we pay for pitting?" well you don't have to ... your paying for the ability to put a group of people together in an organised way with out having to resport to a punch up on the saturday morning or sleeping at the venue.

I think John's exact words were "don't mind the ear bending and complaints if it's helping pay the rent" .. seems fair enough to me.

I will be there most of Friday so if your having toruble finding John or the other lads I will be happy to help track them down for you .... they will probably be wearing their Ardent Raceway bomber jackets anyway.

WTF eh??? I just want a space to pit!!! I ain't gonna get involved with any political shit! I am bringing a table and chair, I will plop it down where there is space, I will plug me charger in where I can, then I will race and of course commentate!!! I don't see why pitting needs to be so complicated....

I am with Mr Church.....

I won't be paying for any pit space, once my stuff is on the table it's my space. I will be leaving stuff there over the evening and i expect it to be there in the morning... If not, the stuff thats there (in my place) WILL become a nice bit of heating!!!

If people are making the effort to get there early (supporting the club) as they want to practice. then i don't expect to pay for pittting!!!!! This is getting like a soap opera of RC.

I think people just want clear and correct information.
No one is asking for the earth, they just want to know what's going to happen.
I respect this is Ardent's first big international meeting, but there has seem to been a lot of confusion as far as practise and pitting is concerned.
It's very simple, just state what's going to happen, then people will enter the race or they won't.
I do hope the petit is a successful meeting as I am involved with the running of it and I am also racing at it, but can we please get some definite answeres to practise and pitting.

Cheers to all involved in running this meeting, I know it takes a lot of hard work

Please could Ardent confirm if the carpet on the track for the practice sessions on thursday and friday will be the same carpet for the meeting on saturday and sunday? Thanks

Ok, confused about pitting, am I paying to pit, or just to choose which table? If Mikey pays for 10 spots, and I need the 10th as there's no room and he only has 9 people, surely he'd want meto pay for the 10th spot, so surely all pitting therefore costs?

Might pit in my car if it's a paid deal, will be warmer in there anyway!?

hopefully the pitting police wont damage the carpet while goosestepping around in their jackboots & taking bribes so people can pit with their friends!

thats even if you have taken 2 days off work to get there for some not advertised much before the event practice! & are even lucky enough to find a vacant space!

i've been really looking forward to this race & can't help but feel there is a definite cloud of negativity hanging over it now which certainly hasn't been helped by the slow release of information just a couple of weeks before, which has often only emerged due to somebody asking about it directly!

anyway.... hopefully we'll all have a great time & the meeting will all click into place on the day

still looking forward to it though ever the optimist

Could'nt agree more mate!!!
Only just started to read this section as the race is looming ever closer and may I say it's an interesting read.
I think it's 50/50 between staying at home with the family and loosing out on the money (as aparantly PETIT don't do refunds) or turning up and watching the arguments and having a poor weekend away doing something I love being ruined due to poor organisation!
I did read that we're not racing on chip board or patch work carpet though which will be a welcome change. The first Ardent race meeting I attended was excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Don't know what's happened since, however, good luck for the weekend.

Honesty is key, Mr Church. That's why I ALWAYS ask for comments good and bad on meetings I've helped organised.
I will reiterate, the first round was one of the best meetings I attended last year!!! The other two, not so good Hence, worried about the weekend...

Default Petit pit spaces available...

I will be there early friday morning, first in the door. I am going to reserve 10 pit benches.

If you want a pit space then they are £10 each, includes one plug socket too, and a chair.

I'll take half of one please Spenner, I'll share with Benji! Hard times in this economical climate.
