Tested layshaft with associated 87t spur and it was smooth with no wobbles.
so i reccomend use of associateds sc10 93t pinion and use vts.
the rw may work better with vts but cant confirm now as i havent receive vts.
production of layshaft will start tmrw.
i noticed that the problem with standard b4 slipper is the area where spring is supported is too small.
even with my best efforts of pressing in the outer plate and tigthening the spring ..while will net me with a wobble free spur, after a hard impact the spur and plate will not spin true again.
i looked at the vts design and i am pretty sure it will solve this problem.
i have asked the machinist to make 10 layshafts. These are now ready for everyone. will be out in less than 2 weeks.

This is the best video of my best performance so far. The 7 degree caster blocks from the ZX5 improved handling tremendously.

Default ZX layshaft ready

10 pieces layshaft done. HRC30 hardness just like Kyosho original.

I will do test fitting tonight. Also I done the fitting of TA05 aluminium 4 degree c hubs, to give total 7 degree caster to improve handling. I recomemend associated spur gear 93T, and I am still waiting for my VTS and my trackstar 10.5 motor which should come before Friday. I want to test my ZX again this sunday and take a nice video at SBS. I have taken what I learnt on my Optima Mid and applied it to my ZX to improve its handling. With this caster addition my Lazer should be much quicker and easier to drive and jump.

I made a aluminium adapter plate so that i can use a ground off durango rear bulkhead/wing mount. Cheaper and tougher than umw-1 wing stay.
There will be a 1/10 4wd race this 30th i will be entering my lwb mid since its proven. I will bring my zx as a back up car.

Ok tested my lazer and the layshaft was flawless. There is a small problem though, its a tad short on the spring end for VTS, but for normal B4 slipper its perfect. However the fix is easy, just flip the nut, or I can get a half coil shorter spring made up. How many of you will use VTS ?
The VTS works great and its very consistent.

Ok ,the rest of the car did not hold up well, my turnbuckle rods keep popping off, and worse, still, broke an original inner arm mount.
After I fix these problems , my Lazer should be problem free like my optima mids. Today my SWB optima mid really surprised me, with Hobbyking quonom vandal tyres on the slightly muddy surface gave the car enormous traction and speed, it was clearing the jumps well beyond whats needed ! In fact for this sundays race I intend to run both my LWB and SWB, 1 heat each. They were both trouble free today.
Ok, so the layshaft for the ZX is ready to sell ! Couldn't take a video as I was alone at the track when I tested my ZX and broke the arm mount.

Will the B4 still fit under the Kyosho gear cover or only the VTS slipper?

Yes it will. B4 slipper takes even less space. But if u decide to go vts you have to recut your cover to installl the huge tube which measures 25.5mm.

My SWB at the track with 30wt oil and Hobbyking quonom vandal tyres.
I swear it was running better an hour before this. I realized after this video was taken, one kingpin fell off.

Next year im getting that 3D company to make a stronger gearcover with the extention, however y gear cover fitted on both my runner and the standard gearbox so think its the motor plate thats causing Rama these issues.

No more issues now. With the big tube even when i tighten the gearcover tight..no part of the vts rubs the gear cover.
