The worst car I've ever had/driven was the academy SB, I did a practice and three rounds. It was so bad I changed back to the xx4 half way through a national....

worst of the worst. cen fun factor nitro truggy. looked so cool and well engineered. mw and a mate got one each.we both hated em after a week. so so bad. everthing broke bent AND wore out. the full car would need to be stripped to fix any tiny part. almost put me off for life. this was on the verge of brushless so glad it didnt. hated it. probly my own fault for buying a nitro. but it only took one car to learn my lesson. some fools had a full collection before they realised brushless is best.if you want engines go 5th scale. 2 strokes ok and they pretty strong. thank god for brushless. hate satan for nitro
worst 10th buggys i owned ansmann royal flash/master smacker.....but they did get me back into racing so cant really hate em. not fond of the bj4 either but mainly cos it dont suit me .
2wd i always struggle with only had a b4 and a fireblade. struggled with both of em.
4wd rules

I had an MR4-BC, didn't feel great. I changed to Academy SB-Sport which was worse but not much worse - felt I could do something with it so percevered.....

Then I had a go of a XX4, just borrowed it when the Academy broke and Nick failed to send my spares in time (or atall).... and OMG, I then realised how bad the Academy was! It never got used again infact.

Defo TL XXX4G+. One little bastard on bumpy yet grippy tracks.

Oh, and the 'Express' (Xpress?) for 190mm TC. Tried to race that one in the 1990's.

Default Worst Car Ive raced!

I think it was the Monogram Lightning and Tamiya grasshopper. I got my ass kicked. . Those crappy buggies were made of stamped plastic. What a joke! I think theyre not made for racing. No Way!Steering was sloppy too.High speed was uncontrollable. This was not driver error either. I promise. Back yard basher or your first kit OK. BTW the Lightning was hermetically sealed for the Circuit board. The parts were not made to be switched out! Do a google search or Ebay search. THose kits came out in the Middle 80s.

Tamiya Grasshoper wasn't designed for anything remotely competitive though, it was very good for its purpose - fun!.... very poor for racing (compared to the gold tub RC10's etc of the time), but it wasn't meant for that. Ive never heard of the Mamagram thing.

MX-4 for certain.

No matter what I did to the setup, I couldn't stop it swapping ends indoors on a wooden floor.

Got rid after 3 weeks

Default worst car

great discussion on the worst and best cars. Should maybe start another about the most underated cars. Oh and the m1 4wd buggy based on the tomy intruder. That was total rubbish. Amazingly i had a tomy intruder and it went great as i can remember

Some time during the 1990's we had a class for Schumacher Wild cats with touring car bodies.

I dont think very many people here will recognise a wildcat but it was built from two yellow vertical plastic panels spaced apart with plastic rods. There was no diff, just a solid driveshaft and hard rubber tires.
There was no suspension or damping just red glass fiber wishbones that flexed in the turns. I tried to google a picture but I couldnt find one.

The rules of the class were that it had to be raced as out of the box with no upgrades (except bearings) so that meant manual 3 speed mechanical speed controls and standard no grip tires.

With the super flexible chassis, no diff and manual speed control this made this "beginners" class much more difficult than any other. There was no way you could "predict" when the car would spin you just had to learn what the limit was and drive just below it.
Some experienced racers tried to race in this class and gave up as it was so frustrating. I think that electronic ESC may have been allowed later into the series as with the manual one it was too hard.

Although it was very hard to drive racing the wildcat for an indoor series made me a much better driver.

I remember the Wildcat, didn't they prove how strong it was by jumping it off of the Schumacher factory roof

Worst for me, was the B4, hateful thing, until I turned it in to a X-6

i have a b4 and have to admit i havent really got on with it. It seems to be very inconsistant with its handling but enough people use them and win with them. I own a real nice b3 and think its wonderfull. Most underated car for me is the cobra. I would say that tho. I got one and spent a fortune on it.lol

T tech predator for me, I had one just after they came out in the late 90's For some reason at hampshire racing centre it kept stripping right hand upper wishbone??? Only raced it a handful of times and switched back to 2wd.

I cant really say that i have a worst car only that the car i had after the previous one always seems better..

Tamiya TL01 first car i raced at club level then moved to Assocciated TC4FT which i still have .. then decided to have ago at Off road so got a Assocciated B3 which i only stopped using cos parts were pain to get a hold of, so then got a Losi XXX which is brilliant and now i have an X6 non sq'd which super brilliant suits my driving style (i havent got one lol)
