Velcro strap has hook one side, loop the other. its through the topdeck and looked over itself to secure. I felt the pack would slip out, so i stuck a 2" piece of velcro on the topdeck, and some loop on the packs to line up. it stays put now.

mine are essentially the same, except...

Unless I twist the strap, it is fluffy side to fluffy side. Or am I too stupid to work it out?

Don't put it through the loop and try put it back on itself, you'll lave loop to loop. move the position so you can pass it through, then tighten it down on the hook side.

Does this picture help?

Col, this is the reputable ebay seller of the various 808 keychain cameras:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/eletoponline365

They are well described and you get the exact version you order.

Mine is the 808 #16 v2 D Lens.

More info about them here: http://www.chucklohr.com/808/C16/

I'm very happy with mine considering its £28 delivered from china. Came in under 10 days as well.

Talking Your pride and joy

So what are you boys doing to minimise a fly away ?

Reading about lots of tears from flyaways on variuos forums with some never found

Solutions seem to be a sticky label with contact details or a gps tracker !

Been playing today with a £40 personal gps tracker off the bay, loaded with a payg sim card on same network as my mobile.

Can get co-ordinates or google map link with a text message command

Seems to do what it says on the tin

Hopefully try some long range FPV at the weekend

It's always the little things! Can you believe I've been racing these toy cars for nearly 7-8 years (this time) and have never built one?

Already got one, just wondered how it was secured. I've always used velcro in the past with pretty good results, but this thing pulls much higher G's than a fixed pitch heli or miniquad.

I've not yet had a flyaway!

Actually I did with the v949, but I found it looking in the area i thought it went down, and revved up the props to make a noise, then located it from the sound.

what GPS tracker are you using? Link?

Ah cool. yes velcro works fine for me. i made the error of putting a rubber band on it, but it transferred all the vibrations to the camera. velcro seems to a good job of reducing the prop vibrations

I've had a DJI Phantom for a while now - using a GoPro Hero 3 HD Black.

Awesome.

They just brought out a plug & play FPV kit for it too - better start saving!

try pedal board velcro, much stronger than ordinary velcro

A few more back yard flights under my belt now and still loving the kk2!

Andy - USBasp flash tool is going in the post tonight (2nd class - the only stamps I have!)

There are plenty of "how to's" out there, but this is the one that I used:

The hardest bit is getting the driver to work. Some people are having trouble with the older USBasp tools and windows 7, but this laptop is win7 64bit and it all worked fine.

Cheers Col.

Appreciate the help

I am still very confused by this though.. done some more reading on prop adapters / prop savers etc and I think I should have bought motors that are kind of the other way around - with the motor shaft extending out the other side so I could use a prop saver

As it is - I have to use the included prop adapters - shown here mounted with the 3 screws.
It's effectively a nut & bolt with a washer, so my question is how is the prop held firm ? Is it just held by the pressure of the nut & bolt, I thought there would be a flatspot on the shaft or similar - like we have with buggies / pinion gears - very confused about this
