Not bad mate, not there yet but see my old shell has arrived safely. Get it up and running like mine. My 4.5 Losi goes rather well in it, with of course my brass rear gearbox bulk head.

Mate, i bought back my original but no tub chassis. Still im buying that back as well if it is the original. Also first run wasn't that good as I based my settings on the tub chassis so a bit of work is needed on the set up and also trying to get the zx slipper to slip properly as its bloody hot when it slips al the time. Still it went really well, almost six laps quicker than the shaft drive cars at club.

The plates are definitely to small and i think that the pad will came out easily from the octagonal recession.

Two things can be made:
- bigger slipper plates
- smaller octagonal recession and smaller pad

I already bought a sheet of 1mm PTFE that can be easily cut in order to create some small octagonal pads, however milling a spur gear with only a dremel is not really easy ......

Ema
P.S. Sooner or later I will try the Mad Rat wheels !!
Mad Rat wheels rock.

Ive gone with the octagonal recession will hold it in as the amount of pad that hits the slipper plate is as much as what is used on the hyper clutch and also as your going to tighten the slipper up to get it to slip correctly I doubt it will slip. However if it does your idea is a simple one, buy an amount of PTFE and cut around an original B4 slipper pad and put onto the spur gear to cut the hole section out of it, then its going to really do the job properly.

Ive designed it so if you own a ZX you can use it, and if you own the ZXR mk1 you can also use it with the B4 pads, and also use on the ZXR Mk2 or ZXRR for the hyper clutch so basically a spur for all ZX/ZXR's all in one.

First RW one is a superb design, second one with B4 hex is now going to be made and hope its perfect as well.

Default Pics of my car....

Hi,

Its been a while since I posted but I thought I'd post pictures of my car.

These pics are of the ZX-R after its been rebuilt with the new screw kit.

I've bought ne shock parts so they will be done soon, prob next week as I'm away with work and will do them one night. Then will be sorting new tyres and sorting the wiring out (just generally tidying it up (re-soldering it and strapping it down)). Then will be looking for a new shell and new tyres.

I've looked at the pic of the ZX-S shelled car posted by EMA and may go down that route as the TBG shell on ebay has some bad reviews.

Hope the pics work out.

started to swap parts over on the two i purchased too, everything is so smooth and free its unbelievable........

its dirty as i couldnt be bothered cleaning the outside as its going to be used,

the electrics i have used are just spares i had lying around in box from other cars that had the electrics upgraded,

when i can afford to i will buy a full upgrade on the electrics for this car too...

i've also left the plastic battery straps on as they are more forgiving than the carbon ones when being stretched over nimh batteries.......

need to update the batteries too when i update the rest of the electrics

Iso,

They look similar mate, hoep they are the same.

Bignick - Looking good, now the addiction takes over and youll be hooked on updating it as this car is so much more fun to drive than these new cars.

rondoolaa - Same as above, now you have one your hooked.

Yeah, I am getting the bug, I bought a magazine at the weekend....Though I don't think I'll be doing the LIPO thing as its a bit expensive and I'm trying to save up for a wedding..... does look fancy though.

I want to get a shell for it as the one I got I never really liked the paintwork and as I bought the car 2nd hand anyway it has never really felt like mine so I would like to put my stamp on it.

New tyres and overhauled shocks will make it look better. I won't be doing anything fancy paintwork on the shell but I'm sure it will freshen things up.

(Then knowing me I'll be looking at new radio gear and electrics just don't tell the girlfriend, (already looking at the ZX-S bearing sets on ebay and will be getting a ball end set off their too....Hooked already....good times)).

Will keep you guys posted on progress.

Just been and got new shock oil, tyres and inserts from Stockton Modeller. So will have them sorted next week whilst I'm away. They had a ZX-S in the window but the body looks a lot lower than the ZX-R. I can see why they are a tight fit.

Looking forward to getting the car sorted, Fibre - Lyte are only at Stokesley so thats not far from me either, so may get a rear shock mount from them at some point.

Isobarik, sounds good, I haven't got kids yet but I know I'll be like that some day.
