Righto!
So first off it looks like NO motor limit would be the popular choice for most so we can individually chose what we think we can handle and Darren can use whatever he needs to give his front wheels the most air time!

We're starting to think that we may just restrict SCT drivers to SCT type tyres ONLY and not stipulate a specific make, profile and compound of tyre so that drivers can either use what comes with their kits (if this is their preference), buy specific SCT tyres for the event or continue to use whatever they may have (as long as they are SCT tyres!) in their tyre box already.
Think this would be the most pragmatic approach to this limited class and would not discourage drivers with them having to go out and buy specific tyres for the event.
Also feel that some of the 'kit' tyres may be difficult to source in this country as they may not be a common stock item of the respective distributor. Unless anybody knows differently that is?

That being said we continue to work with manufacturers/distributors on what may be available and suitable for this almost unique event!

Sorry Guys,

All this talk of rules is turning me right off of SCT.

If 10 racers can't get on the rostrum and enjoy racing these things for what they are then I'm beginning to despair.

I already have a car that will be deemed 'illegal' and I won't be able to race it, will potentially have to buy other kit tyres because my kit tyres won't be the 'chosen' ones and well, as for motor limits - sorry but that sucks - let the thumb control be the limit.

Sorry - but for a fledgling class that still struggles to be accepted over here and is largely driven by people who are having fun, I can't see the point of complicating everything with rules for rules sake.

Who says we need rules? Theres only one heat of SCT. Last year it was a lot of fun. Lets not spoil that please.

Gnarly, read Brookie's post above, he is saying any SC based tyre and no motor limit, so not many rules in my eyes!

Apart from taking DMS Darren out at any oppertunity!

Like you say keep it simple and fun!

Fair do's Mark - my bad.
Just not sure where the need for introducing rules was coming from and got out of my pram a bit - that'll teach me to see red mist and not read all of the posts properly

It was massive fun last year and was (IMO) in the spirit of SCT - not too complicated and a real giggle.

Trust me Gnarly - the "rules" really won't change much.

Why is your truck "illegal"? Possibly because it's too shiny???

2WD SC only.
No motor limit.
Any SC 2.2"/3.0" tyre - kit or aftermarket (as different kits have different tyres).

Can't get much simpler than that can we?

Too shiny LOL. Love it. Nahh - it's not the XXX-SCT I'm referring to - it's the even lesser-seen Gnarly SCTmobile - the Ten SCte.

4WD I'd love to run it because it is awesome - but thus far, I've not been able to run it anywhere local.
TBH - didn't expect Off Road Wars to run a 4WD class - but if you think my XXX-SCT is shiny, my Ten SCTe has had even less usage and I'm itching to rag it somewhere

I'm sure you'll be allowed to rag your 4wd SCT round at ORW mate.......providing you take 2 driveshafts out!!!

Preferably 2 on the same side rather than the same axle
