good nights racing tonight, deffo think my setup changes are starting to pay off

are we going to run another championship soon?
how about charging a few quid as an entry fee into the championship then we could use the money off the entry fee's to pay for trophies?

Lads, a good turn out again last night with 20 drivers. A bit of a hjiccup with the laptop changing its settings between races but as we started racing 5 mins earlier than usual it didn't cause a problem with time.
Couple of lads turned up showing interest in getting into it so hopefully see them back again.
We had 8 racers for the open day on Saturday. Not much interest in the way of potential members but good racing entertained those watching on a tight little track.
Hope to see you all again next week.
Cheers

Default Mark's "Pep talk."

OK! for all drivers at Tyne Met, don't think you're getting away without your usual "chivvy" from Mark, 'cos he's away on holiday,.

Here it is from me the "Old man" of the club.

Please try and get there before 7pm to set the trackup, the sooner we get ready, the more time we have to sort out the racing. We might even squeeze in an extra round, (chance would be a fine thing).

Anyway, here's looking forward to tomorrow night with as many drivers as pos. Seeyou all there then

does this mean you'll be crackin the whip on all the lazy ******** who arn't doing the share of marshalling ray

If Mark isnt there tomorrow night all Phil Haines has to do is finish and he'll take top spot in tc's.

Default Finals night.

Not much to add to what Mal commented on the racing, only if he hadn't sufferd car mallardies inthe first final Mal could have finished higher in the TCs, (at least in front of me)
One more week without Mark & Paul, thanks to Mike West & John Davidson, I think the meeting went without any major hitches.
With the return of Nigel Hastie (sorry if I've spelt your name wrong Nigel) the number of drivers wasn't too bad. Bill Allison & Peter Ellis swelling the buggies. (good to see you again chaps!)
Roll on next week, with an increased set of drivers.

Thumbs up Reminder to drivers.

Hi guys, just your weekly reminder for tomorrow night.
Last weeks total of drivers was pretty good, do you think we could match it, or even surpass the attendance.
The driving and marshalling was noticeably better than the previous weeks. So if we could be there pre 7oclock, let's see if this Monday we can have another good night.

See you all tomorrow night

Another good turn out tonight- 13 tc's and 5 buggies.

Jason was back with his sx3 in the buggies and Peter Anderson had a screaming night avoiding the carnage in the demolition derby heats to nick the last spot in the A final away from Ray (maybe the 10.5 motor had something to do with it)

Yet again marshalling was poor- it aint rocket science to marshall after youve finished your heat- even if your car is broke, ask someone to stand in for you while you fix it

Gonna end my rant now or i'll be here all night.

Mal

Not really off road though is it? More like drift racing, I can't think what skills that surface can give you to go racing real off road on a high astro track?

I'm hoping to pop along next Monday night to see what it's all about so hope to see a few buggies, suppose it's hard to have 2 types different class racing on the same track!

Chris,

How do you expect 'proper' off road racing in a venue were you have to build a track and dismantle it within a few hours?

The venue like most clubs is not owned by them.

However the racing is normally very competative and close, which too me is what club racing is all about, a social and enjoyable night.

Having big jumps and damanding track on a club night also turns away newcomers to clubs as they cannot even get round the track.

Racers will race no matter how easy the track is, a club needs to exist on all it's members.

Get yourself along and see how close the racing is before complianing its no good.

Sorry Mike, I can't remember me saying that it's no good!

I said that the video shows drift racing in one of the clips! Fact!

It's there for everybody to see, by off road racing I don't mean a full clay indoor track, you know that I don't mean that!

Why do people always go on about newbies?

If clubs catered for people that already drive rather than for somebody who might want to race once or twice then never again then the north east might have some more successful clubs, other than that they will continue to be un-supported as they are?

Ya dig?
