happy days if you worried i think ive got some old 2000mah nicads i used to charge straight from a twelve volt years ago you can borrows those they wont go bang LOL

[quote=glypo;74169]
How do you cope with club racing? Surely when you race club level you have shorter then an hour between rounds? Just do whatever you do there. Really sounds like loads of time for me. I'm planning on charging my EP4200's for my 4wd and IB1400's for my micro all day using only one charger.[quote]

Club racing ........ 1/10th off-road club racing ..... sorry, I don't understand?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I vaguely remember somthing like that int he 90s .... might just have been a dream however....

1/10th off-road club racing, nope .... sorry .... does not compute!!!

At club I run micro (since Oct this year, before that it was 2002 since I last raced at a "club" meeting) and lost 2 rounds and the chance to race the final due to charging problems on Friday ..... if you don't mind I won't be trying to repeat that on the 16th!!!!

I am still 5417 scared of IBs blowing up on me ..........

Andy, bet I could last on 2000s with modern brushless systems .. ironic hey.

LOL that is true I must say. Doesn't really exist around these parts, looks like it's coming back though I'm sure you'll be fine though.

Cris - Using a RC18T FT. Fingers crossed it will do. UKMC3 I did not like the M18T and got rid of that. I'm much happier with the RC18T, for now anyway

1/10th off road clubs?

what are you on? seriously? theres more 10th meetings than i can actually attend! its a strong part of the racing world! only really being bettered by 8th scale! which is buzzing right now!

also charging cells at 3.5amps?? why?????

anddddddddd............that jump looks ace andy! what makes RC fun is being able to express the purpose they are made for! if you dont want to jump, buy a Boring car!

wat is the appeal of tracks in the states? dirt and jumps!!!!!! 'jumpssssss'

Andy it looks cool, 1/10th off road is awesome and we know it! im a little frustrated by this thread as the MK GP is going to be tip top.

get more pics of jumps on ASAP!

Lee

Andy you need to put a single jump a way out fom the jump in the picture that the brave people can use as a landing ramp

if you don't go at it hard enough you come up short & stub in or slow right down and take it as 2 jumps! that way if you really go for it you do them both at once! makes the jumps risk & reward!
you are rewarded with a quicker time through that section if you risk jumping it all!
thats the way to do it

Pidge, in answer to your statements in your response to my previous post ....

Firstly I think the jump looks cool ... did I not say that???? I meant to!!! I like jumps like that one where you can drive it and set the car down nice and controlled on a proper lander ramp .... as you say like the US tracks. This is one of the reasons I really wanted to make it to CML .. to drive the jumps. Anybody can wedge a bit of plywood at an angle but that is not a good jump ... what Andy has built looks smooth!

As for the club racing comment I've not lived with in an hours drive of a club that runs 1/10th off road cars since I moved out of the London area in 2002 (used to go to the Watford club on a thursday and in all honesty they stopped running buggy's in any number in about 2000). There are no clubs that I know of in the southern part of the west mids or northern half of the south west that run 1/10th off-road. If anybody can find me one, within an hours drive of Cheltenham (an off-road racers desert) then I will defiantely go racing there!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the clubs seem to run is boring car and, if your really lucky, micros with basic jumps. The whole reason I bought a micro was that there are no 1/10th off-road clubs around

Seems similar around Glypo's way by his response.

As for the 3.5A charge rate I run that as it's the lowest that I can normally get away with and I am seriously worried that a cell will let go on me and hurt somebody. Comes from being a health and safety bod I guess!!! If I could have bought any other cells than IB4200s I would have done but they simply were not available when I needed to purchase cells. That being the case I feel I have to treat them with respect and a healthy dose of concern.

I don't think anybody has said anything negative about the MK GP ..... I certainly haven't ...... just trying to clarify a few things so I understand what to expect and have a good days racing.

I for one am really looking forward to it!!!!!! I certainly didn't mean to uspest anybody.

Hi Roger,

Both the Hereford club, and the Caldicot (Newport) clubs are an hour away from Cheltenham?

Both of which run off-road style tracks (Caldicot only race off-road), with loads of jumps and features.

At Hereford at the moment, the track caters for on road too, so the track can be a bit tamer, but in the near future we are looking to run off-road only nights, every other week.

Cheers,

Chris.

Chris ..... you have just made my day!!!!!!! I didn't know Hereford did 1/10th ... been told it was a Micro club....

I was always up at Ledbury putting in stick time for RallyX so if there is a 1/10th off-road club just a little further than that I'd be well up for that!!!!!!!

Just rechecked the 1st-hrcc site and found it's just a bit over an hour (TomTom says 1hr10 and 57.5 miles quickest, 1hr20 44 miles shortest using the info from the website .... no mention of 1/10th offroad though If it's a 6:15 start there is no hope ... I struggle to make it to Gloucester by 8pm most times)

Anyway please PM me the up to date details or start an new thread please....

Caldicot is a bit more than an hour from me due to the flow (or lack of it) of evening traffic (assuming they run on a week night).

Can we go back on topic for the MK GP again please before you get me hund, drawn and quartered by Mr Martin .....
