Glad to hear that everyone was happy with the layout of the track. With regards to the big jump i think next time the down slope will be better. (i.e double layered wood all the way on the down slope)

Already looking forward to the next one, especially as now the indoor nats are there. Should have more people interested

All good

Danny

my back and my knee were giving me a lot of pain when I was marshalling - so there should be a 'special' award for us oldies who aren't as mobile anymore
Well jimmy, funny you should say that. as soon as I hit 34 my lags have been giving me the same problems......no, seriously.

I thought the track was ace...well I would do wouldn't I? But I think although it was faster than the last one, it did provide you with more overtaking opportunities, which is good. The jump in from of the rostrum was loads better to land but can still be improved on. Maybe boards to cover the whole of the downslope would be better.

Good to see the turn out too, Loads more than expected.

I had quite a good day, I managed to get the RB5 working well. mid 'c' but a mare of a final, managing to break one of the mega thick atomic carbon shock towers!

The problem with the marshalling to the right of the rostrum, was that someone kept moving the chair that the marshal should have sat on.

We did have some numbers for the marshal chairs but never got round to putting them on. We'll make sure they're done for next time.

Some of the marshalls did seem a little scared of the job in hand sometimes, no fully sure why, they're only little cars after all.

But all in all, a top meeting and top track (thanks to Tom, Dan and Chris too).

So then Rich, you'll need to move on to the GM/Speed Passion/Orion motor to try and break now then!!!

I agree with everyone on here, the track was awesome. I had problems with the main jump and ended up just hopping onto the shortest flat bit. I really liked the set of jumps in the middle.

Danny, i Q'd 6th finished 6th with the Losi, Fabien Simonini was 2nd in 4wd with a 501x.

3 and a half wheels? You dont have much luck in finals do you James

Track was great, I had a great day - it brought back the great memories from days gone by

I qualified 6th and finished 6th in 4wd (after my rail slide along the rostrum - which I think Stan helped me to do ) with the X11

Damian qualified 7th, finished 5th with one of those old elastic band Losi XX4 thing-a-ma bobs

Only improvement for me would be better run practise. I don't think there was a peg board, and the general shouting out of crystals was all a bit random

really enjoyed the track and the racing, Sorry to Rich Lowe who i think i took out in the final after being marshalled but well done to Doddy in 4wd and Danny in 2wd who was pretty invincible.

I Qualified 5th in 4wd with the XX4 and didn't finish though not sure who, if anyone dropped out before me.

Managed to break a side belt and front belt, a front shock tower and the back of the chassis........nice.

When we went up the upslope side by side I knew it would all end in tears

I ended up doing a rail slide along the front of the rostrum and then re-joined a little after you. No problem at all - a racing incident Just watch out next time Maybe your car 'flexed' into mine!

the way to get the best marshall is to be in the bottom heat so you get all the top 4wd guys

met, jim(jimarea51 i think), who used to own my losi xxx

only broke a rearshock tower in quali, but had a mare final, first corner, managed to pull a ballstud out the front bulkhead, then after 4mins clipped the track markings and broke the rear pivot block.... o well...

sweet track, hope for another one like that again

Wow, that was a well unfortunate accident. Northy was stuck on the pipe and not getting marshalled any time soon, so kinda driving up it, just as he hit the lip of the pipe join and car jumped about 6inches, you drove under him and his chassis snapped the tower....

yeah not good i made and error that put me into the pipe where the Pred was stuck......but i didn't like that shock tower anyway, lol.

I really can't believe how i haven't broken a XX4 in 4 years give or take and then have 4 problems in one meeting.

Utter poo but still thought it was a good meeting, track reminded me of the indoor finals at York a few years back.

Yeah, a peg board would be good.

I did hear one of the organisers (Tim/Muzzy?) shouting for drivers to get off the rostrum as it was overcrowded during practice, this was a problem in the 'old days' from what I remember. The answer then was to issue practice tickets at booking in, these allow one 5 min practice slot per entry and encourage drivers to get booked in & paid up ASAP, allowing the heats to be finalised quickly

The obvious downside to this suggestion is that someone has to be available to police the rostrum; the organisers looked to me to working very hard as it was.

Yeh, OJ, that was me sorry. I was doing my second rail slide along the pipe as Chris has stated, with the power on trying to get off it, and I think you were coming the other way!

Can I get some extra points for my tricks?

My (and some others) only bug bear on the day was that some of the marshalling was dreadfull. In round 3 after waiting for 5 secs for a marshall I actually had to get off the rostrum to marshall my own car and there was a guy who seemed scared to go on track to marshall. In our own little huddle we put this down to ex touring car racers, is this fair?
Hi Dan,

I don't know whether your post was aimed at my marshalling in any way, but I will apologise now for not hearing your call when you pulled up near me - I thought you had broken your car.

And for the record, I am a touring car driver but make every effort to reach the car before it has finished its 17th barrel roll and try to ensure a swift turn over so to speak. I don't think I could say the same about a few people that I saw - both buggy and TC people alike.

I do agree some of the marshalling was bad though, there were often points unmanned which meant that cars would go unnoticed for a few seconds. Personally, I would like to see marshalls be made to stay on their points until relieved like usual and actual points to be clearly marked with race numbers.

If somone wants to re-educate me on the intricacies of jumping a 4WD over that mahoosive launch pad at the next event, then I would be very grateful!

Andrew,

Were you in the middle of the track, by the 3 jumps? In which case no it wasn't aimed at you at all. My run was burned and I had just pulled offline to get some clear track so I could go for that all important fastest lap time (bragging rights).

My touring car ref was more for banter than anything. I think everyone agrees that numbered marshal points though are good.
