crazy, so what's the deal the - are Tamiya releasing this buggy randomly around the world? How am I supposed to get a car to review if I don't know where I'll be able to buy it?
I have it pre-ordered from Japan, obviously cheaper but the main reason is because they get things first - but it seems it's being sold before the release date??

I'm keen to get this car

I would be interested to know where to get the slipper clutch from and the hop up parts (cvd,s etc)

The only db-01 bits i see on stella are the black dish wheels.

They have had it, the car was ready a couple of weeks ago and in shops.... but the official release date is the 29th, not before. If Tamiya find they have been sold, they might not get them again till the official release day.

Who knows, maybe Tamiya is happy to see one of their products in great demand. Its not like they are losing money to anyone from getting their product earlier than normal, but then again i dont operate any type of business, so im not sure what the deal is.

i know for a fact that a lot of the BIG Tamiya distributors were not at all happy with the fact that they would lose out on initial sales due to people buying driect from large places in Japan, so they have instigated glabal release and global pricing, so in theory you shouldn't be able to get it any quicker from anywhere or at a cheaper price.

There are DB01s in several shops in the UK, they came into the Hobby Company last Thursday and were dispatched immediately.

If you have a problem with the Hobby Company selling something before it is available in Japan then you are better off taking it up with them.

I suppose the benefit is that the people who are prepared to support the UK shops get their cars a bit sooner this time around! If a shop in the real North East had one in yesterday then there would have been an assembled one on my desk right now!

To be honest the HC are probably are less concerned by an apparent release date and more concerned to get stock out of their warehouse as quickly as possible, rather than have it sit on shelves unsold.

I know some may have been prospecting on tinternet as they can buy and ship kits to the UK from HK cheaper than HC can supply....
