i've burnt out three motors with my mad rat
could it be something to do with the slipper clutch
or is it because i'm using the stock ansmann motors which are apparently rubbish

Nice 1st post George
If you have burnt out 3 motors i strongly suggest you double check your instruction manual to make sure everything is in its right place.
There is nothing wrong with the Ansmann motors.

George are you running a normal setup aka stock gearing and 7.2 or 7.4v not 11.1 lipo?

i've changed the pinion gear from a 21 to a 28 but besides that its just stock andthe battery is a 2000mah ansmann 7.2 battery

thaks for the help
i've switched back to the stock pinion gear and now its working perfectley
i've decided to buy a brushless ezrun motor but i'm not sure if my existing batteries will be good enough for it
at the moment i've got two 7.2 3800mah nimh's

they should be fine i am about to run 3700 with the 9t ezrun on sat so i can tell u how it goes if you like?

you can get lipo batterys hardcased of ebay 5000mha for £20 turingy

they are actualy ok however they are not BRCA legal so i will not buy them and i cant be bothered with adding all that lead at the moment when i plan to go to regonals soon and will have to change packs anyway to something legal

good plan stampy. he already has perfectly good cells for his track and car.

do you know what the BRCA homologation list is? go google BRCA and have a read.
