Default Tally

Just a quick one as I agree with the comments made with regards to the jump's profile's and straight- however thought it made for fantastic finals as if 2 cars were close then the 2nd would try a move and either benefit or ruin the run. Also thought there was people in the top finals that would not have been there on a run track such as stotfold, southport, eden park etc. So they can now push on and see what happens.

Thanks to tally, good weather / social side great - pleasant

Thanks to the talywain crew, you had clearly put alot of effort in to the track to get it ready for the national. I think you could be onto a winner with some work on the profiles of the jumps and the straight!
I had a great weekend from all aspects. Really enjoyed my first meeting with the new team.

A big well done to Tom Yardy for his first national win. You deserved it man!
Nathan waters did excellent to make his first national A-main
Huge well done to Tom Cockerill for finishing second in 4wd, Great result!

Interesting comments on the straight, I'm one who does think there can be a too bumpy track for 10th unlike Lee and others, but didn't have a problem with the straight (well, lifted at the same point every lap and it went over fine), whereas even some top guys did, so there must be an issue and I was just lucky (and despite me being slow, my car goes as quick on the straights as anyones)!! Totally agree with Griff that it definitely was an issue if people had to use another line on it. Also totally agree with Fabs that Cov is much rougher!

Seriously, agree with most on here, just the straight (It would be nice to be able to stay flat on the main straight!) and first double (when run 4wd direction) could do with some profiling/flattening, other than that I liked it!!

I agree with what Pidge says, but I do hope we go back.

Fair enough, you guys want to defend the work you have done, and you deserve a load of credit for it as it was a good track apart from one part of it. But in my opinion the greatness was somewhat dilluted by the straight being random. If Ellis and others in the top 10 can't do it consistently, then what chance do the rest of us have? I can accept bumpy, but the straight should be do able, and any obstacles be consistent accross the width and be visible - the bumps were not visible or consistent. And FFS it was so bumpy cars were airborn over the loop to the point they were not counting.

Another point, is Batley got a slating and a letter from the BRCA - for a rough straight and lack of toilets. So what has changed now? Personally the straight at Batley and general track condition (at the last national held there) was better than Talywain last weekend in my opinion. Im just stating this in response to the denial that the straight being overly bumpy is an issue. A lot of it is down to opinion, but benchmarking it against Batley straight which was complained about - then yes Talywains should have been a bit smoother and predictable (by no means flat ofcause, but there is a middleground)

The other thing is it could be made 80% better by the straight being do-able consistently, the other 20% I personally could live with and I did enjoy the track until I got to the straight. So I do hope we're back there, that we have toilets (i was bursting so much in the morning I snook into the ladies before I exploded - would have been messy), and that the pub stocks more Magners.

I did make a comment to H, didn't go down well, would have been nicer if was able to chat to him as I wasn't looking for an arguement or to offend him. I was trying to say I liked the track except for the straight. But hey ho, clearly a lot of work has gone on, and granted none of you want to hear negativity. But the fact is something wasn't right, so please don't take offence for the critisism.

I think, you may find that H had had a few come up and were quite 'abusive' about it all, so you may have gone and asked at the wrong time, dude. I was there when there was one particular tirade towards H and the track, during practice. It wasn't pleasant at all.

I had no input into putting the astro down, and only helped to nail the hose in place on bank holiday Monday.

You had no change of speaking to H on Sunday- as some rather nice person had a very verbal and abusing go at myself and H for the track as his son has rolled and broke his car- I went home after that

H stuck around as he was race director but if he had gone home I wouldn’t have blamed him, there is a way of addressing and issue with the track - shouting and swearing and making out we are incompetent by the rostrum is not the way to do it.

Fully understand what every one is saying about the straight and the issues will be resolved.

Hope at least some of the drivers enjoyed the weekend. Yes I agree that the straight was too bumpy for 1/10th and it will be altered.

As for the lack of toilets, a simple lack of communication between myself and H, it was meant to be announced that if toilets were neede overnight, just to knock on my door and I would have opened them up.

just 1 complaint the club has tho, what classes as rubbish - broken chairs and even a broken petrol generator!!!!!!!!!

Might be a problem if you wanted it back, as all rubbish was piled up ready for collection today.

Will check when I get back to golf range this evening.

I can't ever really bring myself to complain about a meeting, cos i can't imagine the amount of work that goes into hosting a national event, for such minimal reward. For someone to actually verbally abuse the people that made the event happen, well it's just totally out of order.

Yes, the straight was bumpy, and i probably had a grumble to myself about it at some point on the Saturday (didn't race on the Sunday, so can't speak for the way it drove then), but overall, the only thing i can say is just a big thanks for all the effort that went into hosting the event in the first place. Nice one to you all

However... i will forever be haunted by the sheer size of the turd left in the toilet on the Saturday morning. Whomever created that needs to get to a doctors fast, as it was the size of a man's arm

Think Ash was saying he took his with him?

Should have put in my prior post, big thanks to all the Taly guys for the effort, could see how much work had and still was going into it all, and definitely appreciate it, as well as covering my marshalling in the final!
