Gerd Strenge and Michael Vollmer are proud to announce the founding of a new company Team Durango. The Team Durango name has been around the scene since 1999 when the first Durango 4WD 1/10 electric 4WD buggy was made by Gerd Strenge. What followed was a very successful history of national and international victories including wins at the German and Australian National Championships but the highlight winning the 2004 European Championship in Italy in the hands of the very talented Jörn Neumann. Although only available to the public as hand built one-off cars the Team Durango 1/10 4WD buggy has a large following in the buggy scene and is one of the most anticipated cars on the planet. The same applies to the Team Durango 1/8 scale nitro buggy that is around for nearly two years now. The prototype not only won the highly competitive Pro-Line Dirt Challenge 2007 race held in the UK but also holds many top-spots in national and international races. Both cars, the so called DEX410 1/10 electric 4WD buggy as well as the DNX408 1/8 nitro buggy are about to be released under the new Team Durango name very shortly. But there is more: Team Durango is also developing a 1/8 scale nitro truggy and currently working on several general products in the likes of a Jörn Neumann signature tool series, useful and innovative wrenches, merchandise and lots more.

Since Serpent is not mentioned in the press release maybe they just forgot to peel it off or they used an old shell.

I think that is most likely the case in reality - just sloppy to leave it on there

I dont think the sticker has any relevance, they could have kept it on so people think there is still a link to serpent which i turn would actually help out serpent if prospective buyers/investors thought they had gerd and jorn on board

All very strange - They don't get ready to release multiple cars, merchandise and tools from thin air........ .

If a buyer doesnt know who is on the staff more fool them!

Prospective invester...
"Ive done my due dilligence and know that they have a top off road designer, I saw a stiker on a car!"

@ Jimmy - its easy to put that in a press release - the images from the 1/8th worlds made the car look like it was some way from production ready.

Time to close this thread maybe and kick off a 'Durango' thread elsewhere - Serpent is no longer making any off road vehicles clearly.

I agree its not much of an investigation but while people are talking about serpent, they are in the spotlight and getting publicity. Just like we are giving them now, because of a sticker. Who says it wasnt strategically placed?

Do you really think they would miss something like that on such important promotional shots

Thats like AE drivers running losi stickers

Politics man, politics. The news breaks on redrc.net - which is run by the excellent marketing guy from Serpent. Its not like a press release went round? I didn't hear anything and can't find anything on the net - not even rc10.de the long-time durango homepage about this.
