Ok gave it a bit of a rebuild today.
Checked all the shocks/diffs.
just refilled the diffs a little thats all.
I have taken the battery tray out,So when the Tekin system comes i can route the esc wires underneath the battery tray.It also makes life easier.Putting the motor on then the battery tray and esc.

A couple of pics.

Waiting for a motor and esc!

All nice and clean

I really like the fact the battery tray has been patted on all the sides and the bottom. My 4s batterys fit in there PERFECTLY.

Again very sorry for the poor quality pictures.

Nasir is doing his exams so isn't on the forum but emailed me this to finish his build thread off.

Hello Everyone,
I finally received everything i needed to finish my build thread.
The Tekin motor and esc has to be one of the best quality combos i have ever seen, the build quality is just fantastic. I also ordered some Lazy goo, Front and rear skid plates and an 18t mod 1 answer rc pinion gear.

The lazy goo drys instantly and i applied it over exposed connectors and my battery packs. Its amazing stuff and hardly noticeable.
The skids plates fitted perfectly, and look quite good too.

Answer rc 18t pinion. Recommended by some people on rctech forum.Great pinion and its all lock tightened in place.

I just need to add the fan+sensor cable to the esc, then i'm ready to roll.I am still waiting for my spare ( medium compound AKA impacts tyres) just as spares.
I'm going to a industrial estate tommorow for a little test drive.

A friend of mine is letting me borrow his Tekin Hotwire (to program the esc).

Anyway i'll let the pictures do the talking now:

Enjoy

Thanks.

Nasir has asked me to post these extra pictures for him...

Hello all.
Got everything i needed to finally complete this build thread. Spare tyres a couple of spare parts and the RRCI magazine with the rc8.2 review
Gave the car its first test run and all went well, the speed was a bit too much so my friend sent me his Hotwire and i programmed it. Now i should get longer times and a little less speed. I also noticed it was suffering from Grip roll so i need to set a few things out to fix that.
My centre diff was leaking, and i didn't have any time to fix it so i sent it off to Tommy Chung (Euro and Asia models). That should be all good now . Other than that the car was just about perfect. I then Re soldered 1 of the connectors ( just to make it look more neat) and added the fan and sensor wire, then added Lazy goo.

I also emailed Team Associated 2 weeks ago about some missing screws, and today i got a pack of three different types of screw. Associated customer service is Fantastic!!!

Sorry for the crabby pictures, was using my camera.

Video is coming soon, watch this space.

Does it run the exact same chassis as the 8.2 then?
if so, what would be needed to convert an 8.2 to an 'e'? Not much by the looks of it?

Hi mate, chassis is the same i believe,
you will only need the conversion kit.
and a different pinion gear.

Thats all.

Thanks

WTF

You didn't have time to replace a leaky diff gasket or O ring but you had time to take it out & send it to Tommy Chung to be sorted

How does that work out? Plus it wasn't that long ago you were promoting yourself as having an RC cleaning & rebuilding business

Very strange

As i said,i was doing my exams. So i send it off to tommy because i ran out of diff oil,So he fixed the diff and added some more diff oil.
I had NO time to fix anything,Just revision. I even had to delay some of my Rc-services orders.

thanks

I was at Slough yesterday and got a few pics of Nasir's mud covered buggy during qualifying.

When I arrived at about 10ish this was the state of it

The shell weighed about 18 times it's normal weight

Then I got some proper track shots while he was qualifying

He qualified first in the E final ( I think ), race pace was pretty good, got bumped up to the D but was a bit over enthusiastic on the throttle trying to keep up with the faster pace and lost power about a minute before the end

I would just like to point out I did not paint this shell I merely took the photos.
