as you know i race 1/8th and grp tyres are what i use a lot, they wear well and the moulded inserts make a huge difference to the corner speed of the car and the confidence in the tyre, the tyre doesnt deflect as much.
so if the 1/10 tyres are as good as their 1/8th ones they are onto another winner. in 1/8th they do a couple of compounds A & B compounds,A being the softer, they have the same graining moulding on them on the carcass istelf too so they really hook up well on astroturf too, so hopefully you might get a choice on compounds too? and as with all grp ones..you get the best moulded inserts going...free! nice one grp.stick it to schumacher, they have had their own way far too long now.. |

Adam - on the side-wall of the tire there seem to be 3 'dots' and one of them is filled in, is this just a mould tool mark or will these be a way to define the compound?

There's lots of stuff I listen to and soak in to the grey matter. Hopefully we got most of it done in the GRP tyre.... I know people will question the cost of the 'box style packaging' and the perception of how much it added to the cost of the tyres to the end user....super_dan and Cockerill (Euro's A finalist) (Did he mention that???) ![]() Thanks to all those who ran the tyres at the weekend and for the feedback you passed on....it's all stored and going back to GRP....

In 4wd I ran my tires in the first 3 qualifying runs. They held up very well and didn't have a noticeable drop off in performance, comparable with other drivers. However, both me and Rich Lowe found Ballistics to offer a lot more grip and pace than yellows/GRP's (he ran yellows in rd 4) this was due to track conditions as there was very little grass left at the end of the day. PS. Adam you need more commitment on the bank corner, it can be held flat out ![]() |

bought a set of 2 & 4 wd drive GRP's @ Batley
made the C final both days see some pix here 2wd front & rears have done 4 runs each plus 4 laps before each run using snee blue's in the front & kit inserts in the rear 3* motor in X6 4wd front's & rears have done 4.75 runs each plus 5 laps before each run (4.75 = failed to finish 1 heat) kit inserts 4* motor in XXX-4 pix on red table are 2wd @ the event pix with green grass are @ home after both days racing. As for my choice for the future, think I'll go with Schumacher for what I see as slighty better wear rate, but only just. Other may disagree on the wear rate

Good clear pics,
The GRPs seemto have worn quite alot there, and batley is a track with a fair bit of grass. What theese tyres be like on surfaces like Bury and Southport with more concrete and astro ??? |

was just thinking the same thing, i ran 1 car set of sch's for 5 runs yesterday and not as much wear as the grp's. mind you until back to back wear testing is done on same track then we can't really see if there going to be a big jump forward yet

These have Snee blue inserts in them and look to have very similar wear rates to Schumacher to me. GRP inserts not quite as good as the Snee's allowing the tyre to flex more hence more wear???

I think the track was quite abrasive over the weekend as a lot of the grass has not recovered from the floods and many of the acceleration zones were on hard dirt underneath.
The ballistics I ran for 2 runs took quit a hammering. |

Hard to tell from those pics for me glenn as some look like full spike and some look like theres none left on the grass pics.
As for wear rate, the schumachers for me can get at least 2 regionals before I feel they drop off and even then they're good for at least 10 meets indoors for me so unless the wear is better, i personally won't bother changing |

dont just look at visual wear. it depends on how they work, not how they look.
schumachers have a massive drop-off in performance once the tops have rounded and then they stay faily 'same' for performance until they are shot completely. anyone able to comment on the drop-off on the GRP's? |
