OK I'm just going to get the 4 star to start off with, If it's too fast then I can always get the 3 star later.

What pinion would you suggest starting with Chris on a B4 with stock spur.

Rob, i think the 4 star if it is a lower wind than the 3 star (9t-10t brushed) will be a bit to wild for a B4, maybe start the other way around with a 3 star.

I need the 4 star for my 1/12th. Maximum speed and runtime

I'll see how it goes, if it's too fast for the B4 then I'll stick with brushed in that for the moment.

Rob, whatever the overall ratio states in the manual for the 4-star start with that, it wont be far wrong.

Stu,

Its actually a Junior 2, and I've asked him if he fancies parting with it (but it's his brothers really).

Nearly got the Gold Tub RC10 back together.

At the moment my b4 has a gtb 6.5 with a 81 spur & 18 pinion (as suggested by novak). But it just isnt half as quick as I imagined it would be.

what gearing would you guys recomend?

Craig.

Isn't the 6.5 suppose to be the equilivant of a 10 turn? I gear my 10x2 motor about 20 or 21 pinion. I used 21 at Bury on Sunday and was just getting warm.

Aparently you should use about 2 teeth lower on the pinion with brushless.

I agree with that, I have found that 'equivilant' brushless versions of the same motor need to be 2-3 teeth lower (in a Losi)
