Hey there

Looking for some advice on a setup for running on a medium sized carpet track, with a HPI pro flux 7.5 in a B4.

Any advice on setup and gearing would be grately appreciated.

One or more of these should work.

I wouldn't recommend a stock profile for a 7.5, as it will be a bit bonkers so here goes, this is a base setting.

Timing profile either C1 or C2
Dual Mode
Neutral Width 8
Brake Strength 100
Min Brake 10
Reverse 0
Throttle Profile 3
Limiter 85%
Timing 80%
Leaver start and end points as default

Hope that helps.

Lads, im currently having a bit of a problem with one of my tekin setups.
Tekin rs pro, with redline 10.5. Its run in stock mode, tp1.
It runs fine, but after a couple of laps it starts cogging if the motor stops and is restarted. Looking at the sensor leds, once the motor is turning they flasj as normal.
Its not a temp issue as the onboard sensor is showing just one led. And nothing is hot.
Ive tried the sensor cable, and checked all the solder joins etc on the motor and the esc and dont see any obvious bad joints.
Any suggestions as to possible settings or any other ideas before i start trying different motors escs to try and get to the bottom of this?

It's not a setting. If the car starts cogging during a run you're losing sensors, period.

I'd swap to another motor entirely to eliminate it as a culprit.

Thanks a million for that randy, I didnt think it was a setting to be honest, but just thought id check.
I had a much better look at the fault today, and found that what i said above was wrong. The sensor LEDs do flash, but when the fault occurs and theres cogging they stop. So definately a sensor issue.
Swapped out the motor to another redline 10.5 (i own far too much tekin stuff!)... and the problem went away.
Im guessing the best thing to do is get a new sensor pcb, or may it be somthing else?

I would guess it is the sensor board.

Yup, sounds like a sensor board to me as well. The only other possibility would be a weak rotor. This is easily tested by swapping rotors between the two.

cheers guys, tried the rotor with a known good one, and the problem is still there, so i shall organise a sensor board.
Thanks for the help

Default Help!

Hi Randy ,

I recently purchased a 2.4 system for my ko esprit radio.

Managed to pair the tx and rx sucessfully , however when resetting my tekin rs pro and syncing it with the radio gear i held the mode for 3 seconds and it just beeps , it never chimes after trying to find the neutral and throttle positions.

How can or what am i doing wrong ? I have reset my radio to all neutral positions aswell.

Arghh.

First thing I'd do is go to another channel to make sure you don't have a bad receiver. Plug it into channel 1 and use the steering wheel or stick on your radio to see if this changes the response.

ive just setup my R1. It wouldnt go through the setup procedure too. I then realised the throttle channel was in reverse and needed to be in the normal postion for the tekin to find the 3 positions. Give it a try

Ermmmm , i may have boobed.

The module i have purchased is the rf-901sm , only for use with the mini z 2.4ghz.

Would this make a vast difference in setting up the radio system.

Question about total motor timing

I've got a RS pro, and a tekin 7.5 motor, i've got the speedo in Dual with motor timing going upto 80 on the speedcontrol. I'm trying to get more topend speed out of the car, what position should i have the timing set to on the motor as a maximum?

In dual mode the motor timing doesn't apply. So if you want to keep dual mode, increase timing advance for more top end.

What capacitor is a good upgrade to the original?
I had a sanyo 680uF 16V and that blew the connecting wire

I have a RS pro unsure about the timing boost etc as I do not have a hotwire at the mo to check

Car is a 4wd TC running on 2 cell lipo 4.5T

please link to a replacement and or tell me what I can use

Thanks
