I know Nortech do the washers - I got my red ones from nortech for my Tamiya - but they do blue ones by the bucket load!

Thx a lot guys!

Btw very nice race report as always from the Indoor Finals Jimmy! When iE10 comes with smell it'll be like actually being there! That norwegian Ketil you interviewed is "the man to beat" up here on the north pole . He's not only the reigning norwegian champion the last 3 years, he's also the reigning Nordic champion (N+S+D+F)

he did very well in 4WD - I think qualified 9th in the B final and finished 6/7th which is really good I have to say.

Awesome! He was also not very far away from A-finals in both 2WD and 4WD in the Euros last year. He won the Euros Warm-Up (don't remember if it was both classes though). He's from Trondheim, home of the famous soccerteam Rosenborg. That explains a lot!

Really? So only with the batteries forward you change the weight balance, by how much?

But isn't it so that you still have changed the mass of inertia? (the heavy components are with the S2 more centrally placed). Which eliminates the "sledge effect".

It would be übercool if you made sort of a promo 3D animation about this!

By more than the B4. Don't know the numbers by heart, but the distance you can slide the batts forward is a few mm larger in the S2 than it is on the B4. But it's not that important anyway: on the S2, battery position is much less critical, we've found.

Yes, in one dimension, anyway. Inertia in roll is a tad higher though.

:-) We've got other even more übercool projects going on though.

OK, I admit I'm a wee bit confused right now

I thought the S2 was the golden middle way between a X-6 and a B4, but now you're telling me it has the same weight balance. You're also saying X-Factorys statement about the B4 weight balance is wrong? (see previous post) Did you check this using scales or did you simulate it?

To sum it up:
X-Factory claims a typical 2WD has 70% rear / 30% front
X-Factory claims the X-6 has 55% rear / 45% front"
Elvo claims the B4 has 65% rear /35 % front with the batts in full rear position
Elvo claims the S2 also has 65% rear /35 % front with the batts in full rear position

Why is the S2 then faster & easier to drive for most people? I have a feeling the very best guys are as fast with a B4, but for Joe Racer it's better, right?

(the mere looks of the S2 is of course also an important reason for wanting one)

Btw I'd love to know the weight balance also for XX4, X-5, B44, S4, S44, MID44, A-1...

Craig.
Looking at this photo and noticed that you are not using a gear cover on the slipper. Has the shell been designed to do away with the cover.
