You can use sensored motors with sensorless escs. They won't be as smooth as motors built for sensorless use but they will work. Which means your Mamba can run both those motors.

This thread is quite amusing.
Stampy stick with it, the xxx4 is a very good car although it's not the BEST car for rough tracks it is still highly competitive. When I first got my XXX4G+ with a Novak GTB, Velociti 6.5 it was a lot of car to handle and crashes/breaks are going to happen, it's part of racing. There has to be weak points on the car or else you will break chassis, on the XXX4 the week points are the shock towers and the pivot blocks/arm braces. Don't bother with getting aluminum braces or pivot blocks, you want them to break and not your chassis. Double up on the front shock towers and get longer screws with washers and go right through the bulkhead then bolt it together, don't worry about the rear tower. Google search this "how to bullet proof your xxx4" it has some great tips on making your car much stronger but wait until your driving skills are good enough as again you want certain parts to be weak points. If you can find them, the older plastic front diff covers and arms are much more forgiving. Make sure you build the diffs properly and break them in as mentioned in the manual. Also make sure your slipper is very tight if you are running a very fast motor. I almost 'lock' the slipper. If you 'glaze' your slipper pads/pucks (can happen very quickly if the slipper is too loose) your slipper won't work properly, a quick fix is to sand the glaze of the 'pucks'. Another suggestion would be to turn down the throttle profile on your transmitter if you can, or on your esc if you can. Learn to drive the car well before you start driving fast. What else?? get some shrink tubing and cover the dogbone where the CVD pin goes through (you might have the newer version with LCD's) I had issues with the slipper clutch flange rubbing on the belt tensioner arm but I realized my slipper was too loose so tightening it up solved that problem. Keep at it Stampy. The XXX4 is raced much more in North America than in Europe so you might want to check out www.rctech.net as there is a ton of info on the xxx4.

Just pick a pinion, any pinion between say 18 and 23 (for reference I went onto a random number generator just for you and it told me to use 22).
Stick a 22 tooth pinion on it and mesh it up.
Get to your local club early, help set the track up, smile, sit down.
Get your car out in practise and see if it revs out about 3/4 of the main down the main straight.
If it does, result!
If not, gear it up or down depending on how it feels.
If you have problems ask a club member, remember to say please and thank you.
Sit down again.
Remember, no one at the club is deliberately trying to break your car etc etc (just before you come back here saying so).
Help pack up, say thankyou and good bye to everyone.
Go home, your home no one elses.
Take your meds.
Let us know how it went.

actually i think he was serious stampy. how do you think we found out the correct ratios?

We TRIED them and experimented until we found the ones that work best. Instead of being lazy and asking for everything. Next you'll be asking someone to drive it for you
