we'll be running it saturday, not me like spencer cleverly spotted since I'm not booked in for 2WD (day 'off' to take photos and do a report instead haha) but I'll have a GOOD driver to drive it and get to grips with it

Thanks to Modelimages

yeah stig will need to practice with it friday just to get a feel for it and make sure it's all cool. Be a bit of a challenge on saturday since the car is a total unknown but will be interesting all the same.

Thanks to John at modelimages / The Race Place, I got the car a few minutes ago - looks great. The chassis is carbon composite like an FTb4 chassis or similar - but feels to have a bit more flex which is probably a good thing.
Only had a quick look at the bits but it all looks very familiar if you have a B4 / Losi XXXcr or similar.. Doesn't look to have too many stand-out differences which again is a good thing.

Almost done!
The shocks are improved over the ZX5 ones - the manual is a bit unhelpful compared to some though since it has no real information on anything like antisquat or which piston is which.

only 2am but we did it in an evening!

I'd put some photos up but the cameras are packed away for Tiverton now

Car looks great.
The front spring adjusters rub on the front tower when the shocks are in the middle hole on the tower - mounting them on the inside seems unlikely without some dremeling - maybe we missed something out like a spacer (it's late) but we're both super mechanics (lol) so who knows. Looking forward to Saturday anyway - not sure how it will go, such a new car and all, but will be interesting.

yay, mines arrived. gorgeous shell!

can't wait to start building it now. got to paint the shell first.

A bit disgruntled that it doesn't come with (even some basic) tyres. But hats what you get with a competition kit.

Thats all I can show you at the mo' you'll have to wait to see mine in the radioracecar mag review. prob' next month.

seems to be a fair bit of room under the shell for a speedo with fan as its got 'lumps' on the side pods.

just got back from tivy and I ran the rb5 yesterday and it was very promising. Started off hard but in the final it was ok. Keep an eye on this space for more details from Jimmy

Default RB5 setups

Hi Guys,

Any more info likely to be posted this week? I have my first regional at the weekend (and first 2wd outdoor of any kind for 15 years!) and have just taken delivery of one, will be building it up and any setup advice for the weekend would be great?

Cheers,

Dave

hey woOdy,

which of the piston did you use in the shocks?
seeing as there is reference to them in the instructions regarding hole size, it looks like its guess work.

.........they all look the same to me! .............

.......obviuosly some have three holes and some have two......before someone says anything............ .
