Default Neutral Width?

I have two RS Speedo's (RS pro in my B44 and RS in my Cougar)

They are both set to minimum neutral width, but the gap before accelaration in my Cougar is huge compared with almost instant responce in my B44.

Any reason this should be? Tis quite off putting when you switch between cars and they respond completely differently to throttle movement

Cheers

Have you tried re-calibrating your RS to your radio?

This is because of the "stiction" of the belt drive. The adjustment you're looking to change is the "min throttle" setting. The higher this is the quicker the car will move with barely any throttle.

4wd cars will nearly always have a higher figure here. NW will not cure this issue.

I have an (old) RS Pro which I have been running for a few years now (5? 6?), both in my 4WD Predator and now in my RB5 MCS.
It has allways performed flawless ... untill recently.
I experienced some cogging and at first I thought that this was due to the old engine (a Ptitİo 9.5 engine). I bought a newer motor (Losi sensored 7.5) but experioenced the same cogging.
I had taken care to re-calibrate the ESC and ran it in dual-mode, with the sensor correctly connected. The soft-version was the latest available.
I had never experienced problems with these ESC-settings untill things went wrong.
The motor would cogg a bit when starting but once running it might go ok for some seconds, untill you had to release the throthle of brake. ALso I lacked power sometimes.
I didn't even drove my RB5 for even one full lap with the new engine on our BCA-track and pickid the car up as it was clear to me that the problem was not solved.
It was even worse: the engine was really hot, ... at the point that it even was DOA !! with a serious "burned" smell. The engine-wiring was very hot and even my Dean-connectors to the Lipo-Battery where somewhat melted.
The sensorcable was and is still fine.
I have now installed my spare RS Pro into the car and all problems are solved, even the older Ptit-Yo engine runs smoothly again.

What can i do about this ESC-problem? Can i send it somewhere to be repaired and if so what would be the costs?
I have no problem accepting that the ESC has a flaw after the houres and houres racing-fun it already has delevered me ... but I'd hate to have to throw away a once nice ESC in the bin.
I didn't bought it over here at my local dealer as they only sell the sensorless Tekin ESC's. I bought mine online from HK.
Thx for all constructive advice.

i guess that the address mentioned is an address in the US?

And does anyone have an idea about the costs?

Also, warranty is mentioned. What warranty does Tekin offer for the ESC's?

thx

I think it is only something like a 120 day warranty, Ludo, so I don't think it would cover yours. Shipping, send it EMS (express international mail) and won't cost to much.

RC Disco can also perform service as needed if it's closer to you. They're Tekin Europe and can handle service.

The warranty period is 120 days. And should you be out of this period we have a very good "exchange" rate.

Just a quick update with my neutral width issues.

Re-calibrated the speedo and updated the software to 212, but it still has a very wide neutral area compared to my RS Pro. (Turned to min)

Also tried the min throttle by adding a bit more, but still there.

The car has also started to stop randomly during a race, normally within the first minute of racing, then will run fine again.

Have checked battery terminals, motor and speedo heat and all fine... weird..

can you put the settings on here for us please, and also, make sure your throttle curve on your radio is straight?

What motor are you using? I just found out something new about a few of them that may be causing this issue.

Will put the settings up next week as I am away with work at the moment, checked the throttle curve on the tranny and its straight.

I am using a 6.5 LRP X12, but I use a 5.5 X12 in my B44 with an RS Pro and its perfect..

Will try swapping the speedo's over when I get back just to ensure its nothing to do with the servo/motor/receiver etc..
