Short video showing how easy you can flip the middle piece of the updated diff cover for use with standard or upgraded 511.
So diff covers can be used with ball or gear diff, standard or upgrade kit.

I tried to set up a business account on Ebay to make it easier to order, but they suspended the account as well as my private account.

Thank you for that.

Diff covers arrived in good order, thanks Fredrik.

Hopefully get them installed today but it's reasonably warm out so it may need to wait.

Thanks guys!

Nice to hear that you like them.

This is one of the reasons I do this, there are so many nice people out there.

Thanks again!

No problem. I like the design (I had the original long ones previously) and the interchangeable left/right belt setup.

I had to shave about 1-1.5mm off the top of the front upper cover to allow the shock tower to clear but that was easy and there's heaps of material up there so no worries.

Note to all - ream out the screw holes before you mount - I didn't and cracked a piece. My bad and no major problem but at least it can be a lesson for you all.

Pics tomorrow.

Edit: so of course one needs to disassemble to install these and I took the opportunity to check and rebuild my diffs (as I need to drop the front gear diff down to 7k from 10k). Both front and rear were really quite dirty and that's after 8 packs with compressed air blown through them before each run (hard pack track, astro track and some grass/snow bashing as well). Basically the stock setup is ridiculously exposed. You need these covers.

Thanks for feedback!

What shock tower are you using?
I have tried both original and my new ones and it fits like a glove.
The upper cover is same as old cover and I never heard that cover is to high.

Did you get the upper cover in place properly?

Tip is to not overtighten screws or maybe not use at all.

No problem, I'm using the stock suspension components. In retrospect it was probably closer to 0.8mm. It was only where the carbon tower protrudes below the alloy. I noticed that the upper bulkhead didn't sit flush, shaved a tiny bit off the top cover and fits perfectly. I did make sure that both upper and lower covers were seated and engaged correctly before I started shaving.

See pic 1, that's after taking some off.

I haven't taken the tower off the bulkhead for ? years?? So it may have sagged on the screws a little. Either way it was no problem - I may even cut a grove aligned with the tower in the cover at some point to provide a little more clearance in the event of a roll-over impact.

I'm delighted with these, don't get me wrong!

Come to think of it, would you consider doing a carbon lipo battery tray that accommodates centre weights for the 511 w/upgrade kit (511.1?)... ? It could actually be one piece of CF. I miss your old LiPo holders, the new stock plastic ones suck.

No worries, I was only a bit surprised that you had to shave of some material.
Could be that inner radius on shock tower differ a bit.

Looks great anyway!

I have a new lipo tray in the making. It will be a bit different, not exactly like the old one. Not like any other tray out there actually.
And hopefully better than the plastic parts.
