It'd be rude not to run an X11 next year Dave.

Dave, I would send Team Xtreme an e-mail (see team drivers 2012 thread) and see if Xtreme are willing to help you out with a car to promote in Sctoland.

Xtreme only sell the lipo car now with the orange steering arms etc, so its full spec out of the box!

Thanks for the quick reply Mark, I have popped a short note to them as an initial enquiry.

Cheers!

As Mark said, get in contact with xtreme as they may be able to help. I think the £70 difference you're referring to is the fact that the team xtreme site doesn't include VAT.

As far as I'm aware it's only us and team xtreme themselves that carry stock of the X11 parts, so I don't think you'll find many shops to compare prices with.

We don't have any kits in stock but do have a lot of spares currently at a discounted price

Shame the motor wires are not in the correct order so the motor wires had to be twisted, may put in my SP V3 motor at some point so will see what this come out like.
Hey mark great to see it all done! are you ready to run it next week? Interesting reading about servo position, i have moved mine back slightly towards the motor to make more room for the speedo. However i have noticed some "flex" now in the chassis when the servo reaches full lock, im not sure if it was there before or if its where i have made 2 new mount holes. It is Very minimal but worth taking a look at.

hi all

gotta say all looking good

wouldn't a saddle pack configuration make more room for electrics and even up the weight distribution this is just an idea as the current configuration clearly works.

Hi Stu, cheers for the comments, looking forward to giving it a run.

Yes maybe the X10 layout (saddles at the front) could work on the X11? It would be a case of drilling some new holes in the lipo chassis.

As its so new and shiny I dont want to go drilling it just yet, maybe something to discuss with the team guys though??

It would be interesting to corner weight a lipo stick car and a saddle X11. If anyone has done this on a X10/X11 let me know............

The car seems fast enough as it is but something to consider perhaps....

Don't go for saddles the car works far better in stick configuration. I had one of the very 1st 08 spec cars and converted it to stick after not very long it made the car handle a lot better.

It was quite a while ago but I was running the original track power ones. to get the front/rear balance level right it required quite a bit of weight up front.

With the stick pack down one side no weight was required and it allowed the car to pivot better.

Don't forget the car was originally designed to run in stick configuration way back in '94.

A couple of photos of my installations, The electrics are smaller now so you should be able to get it a bit neater now. These were taken before I put the weights on the batteries. From memory I think it was about 60/80g on each one.

The x11 was originally saddles as mentioned, but when everyone moved over to lipos it was found that the car worked better with stick packs...

I drove the pred a couple of years ago when the x11 first came out, tried saddles and sticks and sticks were always better...

thats cool dont forget when lipos first came out in 2008 there were limited amounts of saddle pack lipos availble and the wasnt as good as stick packs hense the reason for the cat sx.

i dont think it would make much of a performance difference stick or saddles each to there own.

I don't think that flex will be an issue.

Neat install there, I ran a Tekin in mine, but anything else in there I would of had to move the servo.

Don't know if you had the alloy parts re-anodised or if they will be for the RS but it looks really clean and alot better than the hit and miss blue!

I like your style martin, simple and very effective anodising makes your car stand out from the rest plus your install makes it look like there is loads of room in there. thought you might have gone for green though!

Cheers Neil, i had it anodised again just to make it a little different. Like you say, i too don't think the flex is going to be a problem i just wish i'd taken a closer look at it when it was standard to see of it was there to start with lol.
