I reckon it's going to be a race between the C4.1 and the new Durango to get released first.
Be fun if they get released at the same time - we can all turn up at our tracks the first weekend and try and work out if we've bought the right car ![]() Rob

As the B4.1 front end is used on the X6 and Vega, the C4.1 rear will do for me! Just ordered mine

The only 2wd buggies that I have raced have been rear motored.
How much differently will a mid motored car handle here in the UK? Just looking to gather some info, as i'm keen to give the c4.1 a go (when it finally appears that is ![]()

As you may imagine, having the motor mass over or ,in front in most cases, of the rear axles gives us a number of massive benefits. The cars benefit from bags of straight line traction, they carry more speed in the corners and generally sit down and play ball a lot easier on british medium to high grip astro etc. The mid configuration negates the pendulum effect at the cars arse end and pushes all the rotational energy of the rear end across the centre of the chassis, hopefully making the cars go where you point the nose (in most cases anyway lol) Most mid buggys also benefit from 4 gear transmissions that are set up with a neutral idler gear, this allows for the extra gear required for spinning the gear boxes around inside not to effect the out put gear ratio. In summary, bags of grip, no crazy sloppy arse end ![]() Let's not forget though that Lee Martin still drives MOA (motor out the arse) and he is not exactly slow ![]() The C4.1 is going to be a corker so get your pre order in hy

Sure it'll all be worth it and I guess CML think they don't really need to spend any time hyping it up before the launch given the results. Starting to think the first I'll hear anymore about it is when MK e-mail me to say the kits are in and they want some money!! Rob

Yes it is a lot but NO different to a Vega or X-Factory X-6 conversion (before they released a complete car).....and lots of people are running them.

Either way I think its fair to say that most top flight conversions are around the same price these days if you already own the transplant car then bonus

We've not confirmed anything with pictures yet as we don't have any of the specific parts finished in production form (yet). Although I can confirm all the parts are now going through the production process. All the cars we've run have been subtely different and have changed along the way and there is no point putting anything up about those, other than it is work in progress. Jimmy has covered the car in some of his race reports though so photos are out there and we've given it an article about every three weeks or so (as it wins another national) so it hasn't been forgotten on the news pages. Hoping for about 2-3 weeks but obviously that could change. This is the first time I've seen a project like this being run, and whilst I'm not involved in it directly I am aware of what is going on and it's really opened my eyes with regard to how it's much more time consuming it is then I ever thought it would (or even could) be!! But trust me - it's worth waiting for. |
