Glypo .... as a professional mechanical engineer (chartered) ....... but having to pay a mortgage in Cheltenham and obviously working in the UK I struggle to pay for my racing as it is at about £5 club / £10 national ...... if it was £15 I'd have to reduce the amount of meetings I did without question.

Cricky only knows how people on minimum wage type jobs (like a lot of the teenagers working their way through an education are) can afford to race at all.

I agree with your sentiment but as mobile chicane states you have to acount for all budgets.

I think the Newbury boys have pitched the entry fee just about right.

Okay that's fair enough. I'm a student looking at doing a second (post grad) degree next year..... so I know a thing or two about being skint, 2 years of college and 3 of uni certainly empties the bank account. Racing facilities in this country are poor compared to overseas though, simply because they ask for more per meeting. Although not quite the same (in terms of racing class, and popularity), we managed to get hugely over booked for the Neo race asking for £60 entry, plus they'll have to pay 3 nights accommodation on top of that, and food.... anyway that's £15 a race.

I just think £5 for 3 meetings is £15. So it's only £15 over the year more. That's like the cost of a take-away meal for a couple of people around here. So I agree it's asking more of a lot of people, but relatively speaking it's not a lot. Anyway it seems it doesn't matter, as it looks like from what Andy said below the club can afford an AMB system in the future anyway, and that must be on the current £10 entry.

I find that not drinking beer..and having very few friends eases my financial issues lol
Selling forklifts for a living...plus my previous addictions to overdrafts, credit cards and loans kinda makes me prioritise racing alot higher than pissing up a wall

We will be running BBK timing equipment at the 3 round series meetings.

The euipment has been very kindly loaned to us by another local club owner.

When you book in please dont forget to register your PT number. If you dont have one then handouts will be available.

Dont worry, the system will be fully tested the day before and hopefully all will be okay for race day.

Just a few pointers on PT fitting though,

Do not fit on top of servo.
As we discovered to the top deck of B44 is preferable. We will test other makes the day before.
Fit a power cap if using 2.4Ghz
Of course you can never guarantee 100% success rate but these things will help.
Also, the loop will be reloacted to a corner so cars are off power as they travel over it, again, it all might help.
