notme, my truck is absurd fast, it's like on rails straight out of the box but I have green compound jconcepts tyres on it. I only have a 13T brushless in it but its just as fast around the tight track as the 9T DF03 4wd and that has quite a few upgrades. I've dugg holes all over the track from the front end nose diving off jumps and nothings broken either :S how hard is the track you drive on? must be like concrete?

Its hard but not concrete, its known to be a little tough on cars. Unfortunatly the truck is down for a while as it broke the tabs on the front of the transmission case as well. Im hoping this is all thats going to break... :/

I see, maybe I'll break some things during the summer months when the ground gets harder but so far the plastics are holding up well

Well today is a day Id like to put behind me as far as racing goes. The tc02 encountered an issue Ive not had before, its intermittent, and I dont know if its gearbox or electronics. I only finished 1 race out of 4 but pulled fastest lap of the day.
The 4wd the car was blazing the field, but it would only run 2 minutes then shut down. I cannot find any information about sidewinder esc's having thermal shut down, anyone know? If thats not the problem then my next guess is esc/motor combo pulling too many amps and the voltage is spiking below 6v cutoff.
The 4wd handled great and could pass at will, i love this thing!
First broken part with it today too, I got out of shape badly and way overjumped the tripple, landed hard on the left front. I thought it destroyed the lower arm but no. The arm ripped the inner pin out of its place and broke both ends of the pin! The arm did not break, weirdest thing Ive seen in rc in 25 years

Notme... are you using 2.4g control ?.. if so are both cars bound to the same controller...if so is the cut off issue similar to both cars ?....

I've seen cars do this 'shut off' thing when the driver is using 2.4 control system...it seams be a known issue with some makes and might be what's happening with you.

I run 2.4 myself but have not had issues, just thought I'd throw a suggestion out there

notme did you manage to get a temp gun on your 4wd, I have a sidewinder and only heard a rumour that it has a thermal cutoff at 225.

what battery are you running also

2.4 yes. Ive run this sidewinder in my 2wd with out problems, except a little too much speed. So Id say its heat then. It doesnt seem overgeared, but I'll drop a couple teeth off the pinion and see. It was 35C outside too, probably didnt help!
Hows everyone else doing racing wise?

I'm waiting for rcmart to get the 4wd in stock he only has one TC02 left in stock so hopefully when that goes he can make a new order to teacm c and get the 4wd also, I think (hope) he will do the price in the 150-180 usd range, based on the other cars ratio vs the tc prices it works out just over 150 but I'll wait and see what he can do . Otherwise everything is broken with diff issues:S but I have b fast diffs on the way, then I'll be right. I'm looking to buy a plane in the next couple of weeks, it's something I've wanted to do since I was 4 years old. I figure 30+ years is long enough to wait and since I can get a cheap lipo ready to fly trainer these days, now is a good time

Before Australia changed it's tax system we used to have to pay import tax on most things between 10 and 25?% on everything depending on what it was. But now (since 2000) we only need to pay tax if the item is valued over $1000 so now it's almost always cheaper and faster to receive if you buy from Hong Kong, it was perfect timing for online shopping and very lucky really

TCmodels has 10 4wd's in stock. Rcmart may not get them for a while, or ever....? They also sell on ebay.

A TC02 is 159 usd on TCmodels and 99 USD at RCmart, Best to wait for RCmart to sell the TC04

edit: Rcmart said they can get them, just waiting for them to confirm a price

rcmart are going to get them, I like that TR04 pro with the normal stick pack that positronic posted in the other thread, might have to ask about that one

Oh right, their prices kick butt. Im not sure but I think the rtr or stick pack version comes with plastic shocks and bushings instead of bearings.
If only rcmart would carry parts!

Yeah I'm not sure what the TR04 pro comes with so just to be sure I best get the TC04 and get a new battery

It doesn't work out well buying stuff from the UK with the exchange rate and hefty postage, That would put me in the price range of some other more desirable 4wd's but thanks for offering : )

Total other side of the planet Australia, which happens to be very close to Hong Kong, so there's no point sending things around the world twice, that's just a big waste of fuel
