I will probably go whatever the weather. I'll just moan all day long if it rains - so no change there then.

Fortunately, if my gear goes up in smoke its worth £50 max so its a low risk game .

Its the cleaning between runs I hate. I remember at Teesdale one year:

Race, Marshal, Clean Car, Skim Motor, Race.... repeat Worked harder than at work

we were gonna camp fri n sat, but have opted for the travelinn 1 mile up the road mainly cos I'm gonna have my 5 yr old daughter and the missus, and I don't want her moaning and whinging that she's wet and cold in a tent......

......or my 5yr old either!!!

Ok we're wimps but at least we'll be warm!!

Hmmm, cooked breakfast, hmmm, shower, hmmm a bed........

But seriously, hopefully we are getting all the rain out of the way today and tomorrow, so that it isn't as bad at the w'end.

So far the weather isn't looking to promising as it has pratically been raining continuesly for the past three days. The only reason i dont like the rain is because i have to do a paper round every moring, And the past few days i have been arriving home like a wet dog soaked to the bone.

Anyway, does anybody think they might have a bit of spare room in their tents if they are taking them, because if it is raining then a gazebo isn't the best option as they will let a mist through.

But anyway lets hope for the best and that it stops raining for the weekend or at least lets up a bit.

Almost, I just need to put the speedo and servo in.

Make sure you have a motor and wheels/tires ready and possibly another car for practice while we get everything plumbed in

A decision on racing or not will not be able to taken until the morning of the event, so everyone is going to have to turn up tomorrow morning anyway.

However, I do hope people use a little common sense if we get to the 'who wants to race?' voting situation.

I visited the venue last night at around 9pm to see what conditions were like, although there are a few puddles (mostly away from the track location)the majority of the area wasnt too bad, grass seems in good condition also, so fingers crossed that it stops raining for the weekend.

Its 2WD, those cars dont take much cleaning when muddy!

In the interests of safety, should there be a thunder storm, will the meeting be paused until the storm passes? I'm just thinking that standing on an elevated platform, holding a long metal stick in the air isn't the safest position to be if there is lightning overhead.

Chris, in the world we live in today H&S is a major thing, hence why I said earlier that we must be susible with any decision we make. Marshalling on a wet muddy track is also a big ?? in my opinion.

The main gates to Preston Park will be locked at approx 9pm each evening, Gary Waller & myself will have access to the padlock key, please come & see us if you require a vehicle to be moved in or out of the premises after this time, we will give you one or both of our mobile numbers if you need to be out & back after this time. Please note the small side gates for pedestrian use are open at all times so if you do get stuck or have a night out & get a taxi back you can walk through into the venue. The track will be situated in the overflow carpark, turn right when you enter the park & follow the road aroud the back of Butterfly World & you will see the Trailer/rostrum. If you dont know me or Gary just ask someone to point us out. Gary will also have the keys to the toilets.
If you know someone who is not likely to read this please pass on these details, thank you.

Barry

Thumbs up

Only joking G , I know common sense will prevail when H & S is an issue. The last thing we want is anyone injured.

Our H & S record must be quite good, lets keep it that way.

Though I did hear a rumour that it was one of our NE racers, that led to the "No open backed shoes to be worn when marshalling rule" Wonder who that could've been????

What a vicious rumour...

16.6 Marshals must wear safe and sensible footwear that will not become detached when performing marshalling duties. (Open toed shoes or sandals are not acceptable).

I feel like I've left my mark on racing...
