I'm happy to have the regional series to the current BRCA rules, this is what WE voted for this time last year. I really cant see peoples problem with the current rules.

LIPO are not currently brca legal

Why wouldn't you be able to attend them?

It is not what WE voted for last year, it is how it is, and how it always will be.

Why is it with this techology change, people have ignored the rules? It never happened with anything else I can think of.

I think I'll run a really wide car, twice as wide as the calibration box, so wide that no one else can get past it on the track, and then, if I'm not allowed to run it in regionals, I'll complain about it, and ask for a ule change.

Madness!

lol that was in the case where there wasn't gonna be a regional series, hadn't seen your post when i wrote that. It wouldn't have made a difference if there had been no regionals or a not regional series in both cases we wouldn't have been able to qualify for the finals that's what i meant.

Lithium ion batteries are commonly used but not lithium polimers which explode...

Everyone with lipos should watch this...

If anybodies lipos blew up like that they could seriously harm someone....

At least with LIPO you get some sort of warning with smoke and stuff... NIMH cells just explode and are more or less a nail bomb when they go bang am i wrong?

Granted NIMH explode but ave never seen nail bomb characteristics. Ave only ever seen the top or botom blow off with a loud bang. Would like to see a set go up big style if anyones got any footage... Lipo's are the devils energy....

its silly really.. a Battary that can and has an option to be charged in a safe area Lipo sack is deemed unsafe or thera abouts.

Yet! A hissing, exploding, no warning, shapnal firing, inconvinient, time wasting faff around can be deemed safe...

I know what id back at the AGM.

Go to the AGM then Garry.

Im sure many people, like you, are really backing LiPo's, but the regionals are run to this years BRCA rules, as they are BRCA sanctioned events so LiPo's cannot be used.

Rules are rules..

Good doesnt have to mean they make you quicker. Surely everything from charging and having more time to chat etc should count towards a cell or piece of equipment being good?? I went quicker than anybody when i first had my lipo in my BJ4. The cat has struggled a bit but im sure it will get there. I like the fact that you dont have to spend a load on cells and can get away with 2 packs for the club. Credit crunch you know Neil.

have tried the magical lipos dispite being one of the biggest doubters as dont see why i should have to modify a car to fit them but having run them and dispite having had a problem, they are definatly an improvment, not in terms of power but in terms of consistency, i have personally found that my car has the same power level through the whole run rather than slowly tailing off from start to finish making it more consistent and easier for me to get a good run in. i know they arnt brca legal but feel the brca have not been quick enough letting them into regional events as a tester. thankfully a local club to me has been running them from the start and found them to be reliable to all levels of racer hence me now trying them and enjoying the benifits that they offer...... nice to only need a pack or 2 (as a extravagance) for racing rather than the 5-6 packs i normally need for a days racing
