Thanks Allan
Another question, can someone explain the effect of moving the steering rack up/down on the yz2 I've seen its common adjustment on the set up sheets |

I'm no expert, but I'd imagine it's a bump steer adjustment? Not an area of setup I have a lot of experience with. I've always left mine as kit.

I picked up the new ventilated slipper parts Thursday from MB Models:
#Z2-670V - Ventilated Dual Slipper #Z2-670VP - Ventilated Slipper Plate Parts look excellent, usual Yokomo quality standard. I had trouble fitting it to my existing/used spur gear, I guess as it's been subject to some distortion with heat? Octagon shaped holder part fitted perfectly onto a new spur gear however, so might be as well to fit a new spur with it. Looking forward to trying this out Friday. Hi Neal
Did it not come with ventilated slipper plate and just the dual slipper parts to go in the outer side of the spur? Cheers Chris |

Ordered mine yesterday, it seems I should have ordered the extra ventilated plate, there is not much info out there about it so I didn't realise

There are two parts, the dual vented slipper which will work with one original slipper plate. Additionally there is z2-670vp which is the replacement vented plate that goes on the layshaft first next to gearbox casing.

don't worry, you can use it with the standard plate for now.

These parts look really nice, but I'd prefer a topshaft for the Avid Triad/Schelle Nova slippers.

Seems pricey? Does the AE VTS fit?

You can get the ae to fit but you have to modify the plates slightly to get it to fit on the shaft (I have been running mine since I got the car)
In low grip it's definitely a benefit over the std slipper

Ran the slipper tonight and its excellent, no 4min fade i was experiencing with the standard one. i like to run a loose slipper so it suits me. Was on low traction indoor hall floor tonight and it works really well. Manages to be finger cool after a run, which wasn't the case with the kit one, and slip was consistent throughout 5mins.
I did loose the slipper nut 4mins into one run, but i was trying to see how loose I could run the slipper. A new locknut sorted it, and probably should have taken the time to fit a new one anyway when installing the new parts. It's a decent performance upgrade, certainly if you don't like a locked slipper and want consistent slip through out the run.

Hi Guys,
Finally getting round to upgrading the rear arms to the BMAX4 arms and wish bones. I assume most people are using the standard BMAX4 arm (B4-008R) but has anyone had any experience using the +1mm arm (B4-008R1) I picked up both sets to try out but thought I'd see if anyone already has some experience of this. |

I'm running the +1 rear arms. You need 3 shock limiters in the back or the drive shafts will pop out.

Cheers Jim,
I did notice the small guide that comes with the +1 arms which shows you need to use 3x0.8mm inner spacers. I think the standard manual YZ-2 build guide uses 2 inner spacers so should just be a case of adding an extra one? I've just put the standard BMAX4 arms on to start off with, but glad I asked. What short of camber are you running on the rear I'm guessing -1/2 degrees |

I'm running -1 degrees camber.
Built to kit the shocks have 2 inserts, so I just added an extra one. ![]() |
