As I beleive the shell is a CR2 shell and has been around a while and whilst I agree the shell is not the best if you are going to design an undertray to go with it at least make it fit both the chassis and the only shell on the market, or failing that don't make one if it's going to fail

At the moment mine does not fit without some severe cutting that I'm not really prepared to do

The undertray is going in the bin I'm afraid

Hiya,

First off I'd like to sat sorry to hear about the problems you've been having Gsxrturtle. On hearing that you've tried contacting us i was keen to find out why this is the first i've heard of it. Checked all the inbox and spam from the last 2 weeks and we've not got any emails regarding the C4.1 undertray apart from stock enquires so i'm afraid i can't help with that one.

We're only ever at the end of the phone, which probably is the best way to ask us anything really.

With regards to the undertray course we'll do something about it. But first just a couple of things to suggest to avoid any confusion. We have always found the best way to mount it is to first bolt in the rear hinge pin brace and then go forwards. The other thing is obviously bodyshell clearance. With mine I have cut the front down slightly to allow for the lines of the shell, but this obviously depends on the height of the shell. Other thing is are you using the velcro from the packet? Only reason i ask is when using a velcro with a sponge backing obviously this moves the shell out. Lastly the chassis hasn't been bent has it? If it's none of the above then please contact us and we can resolve the issue.

Oh and as for being formed in the oven i can assure you it's not, to buy a new vac former equivalent to what we use is in the region of £5,000.

I'll try and get a picture of mine fitted later on for you. But if you have any queries then our number is 01772 458383 and best to ask for either myself Shaun or my college Mitch.

Hope either this post or some action resolves any issues you've had.
Shaun @ Radio Racers

Is there a knack to fitting?

I've been trying to fit my Radio Racers undertray and it's proving to be approx 1mm too narrow and short...

Depending what end I start fitting from, when I get to the opposite end the the tray edge is short of the chassis edge, ie. countersinks don't align to holes (obviously haven't drilled these last unaligning holes yet).

More of a problem is the width: it doesn't quite squeeze over the widest points of the chassis, such that it doesn't sit flush to the underside and the sides are flared outward because of this.

Am I missing a trick/technique, such as warming the tray in hot water to let it stretch??
