The price of this should be nowhere near the dnx408 as the chassis is simple and not complex like the nitro version I'd doesn't have engine mounts, two servo mounts, brakes either side of the mid spur.

If it's anywhere near the dnx408 price you know Durango are milking us.

I would expect it to be the same, or maybe upto £40 less than the nitro version. Seems to be the trend with all other manufacturers that have a nitro and electric 8th out.

I'm wondering if this car is light enough (I bet is not much heavier than a Losi SCTE) to put a Pro-4 4600kv motor in it, if so, you could run 2s wired in parallel for huge runtime. That would be pretty cool..
im not sure catlip said he was using a t8??

The manufacturer also has to put the development costs into the kit, as the Electric is a less known factor as opposed to the Nitro this may have resulted in more extensive R&D than previous. Also they need to take into account the market, while the nitro class is already very established the electric class isn't, therefore I wouldn't expect it to be cheaper, it would be nice if it is but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Not sure I agree with that, as most of the R&D has already been done with the DNX. The only parts that are different are the chassis, spur gear, centre shafts and plastics for the electronics, the rest is the same. The only reason that the cost will not be reduced is the lower production runs of some of the components, but in the big picture all of these kits are low production volumes.

Right
This is aimed directly at Mark and Captainlip.

Stop posting utter drivel in this section, use the forum as it's supposed to be used, sharing information and tips between like minded people NOT just insulting each other like kids in the playground.

You should both now better.

Carry on and I'll BAN you both from posting in the TD forum... Simples..

It's your choice.

Adam
I applogise to you and Durango for my part, hopefully he wont post any more crap that i feel i need to have a pop. ill just start reporting his posts to get em removed.
I think to claim Durango are "milking" him before he even knows a price is out of order!

dont go sucking up to adam, you knew full well what touble you were trying to cause

yet again somebody cannot understand a simple quote, I never said they are, but I said if its near the DNX408 price then yes that would be milking us do to the more "simple" chassis and less machined parts etc etc

how you cannot read and compute simple statements is beyond me.

im really looking forward to the dex408 and people who arent even considering buying it are just acting clowns and provoking arguments, their either illerterate or trouble causing, most are the latter.

I've got to agree with what Adam said, I'm interested in this car but this thread is just full of stuff I don't need or want to read but I have to trawl through it all to find the bits I want and it's more than annoying having to read it. There's no need for any of it, it's not banter, it's not funny it's just a waste of everyone's time.

I am really looking forward to this. Are there any more production photo's? Having seen the teaser picture for the Truggy I hope that doesn't mean this model will be delayed.

David, we work on MANY projects all in Parallel at TD.

Teaser photos of the DNX408T do not mean that things have stopped on the DEX408
More details of the DEX408 are being worked on right now to show the public.
