I have no problem with £10 for a nights racing. Good venue. Brillian fun. Can't wait for more. It takes you back to when you first got a r/c car running it the road ourside you house with your mates.

I didnt say 10 quid was to much just £10 quid for 3 hours as most clubs charge around £8 to £10 for 5 hours racing

yep i agree with Slowbob.
10 £ is to much for 2.5-3 hours fun, and finaly it was not offroad track at all.
OFFROAD TRACK WIHTOUT JUMPS.

I would come but I must admit the £10 put me off. The 2 locals clubs close to me are £3 on a club night.

I,d say £8 would be fair for 3/4 heats and a final.£5 for under 16,s
Anymore than that would put some people off... unless it was a top class off road track.
Maybe start the first heat at 7.15pm(gives people travelling time) and aim to finish around 10.30-11.00pm?

Just a thought.

Ive driven enough 'laps' in street testing to know that cars have a nice amount of grip on tarmac with worn yellow mini-spikes.
Yay, sounds great. And, dare I say it, could we start seeing off-road heats at touring car meetings? Add jumps, race.

Sure, the touring car boys will moan about dust or changing track conditions or some such.

Yes it took me back to racing on the street and I like many soon got fed of that sas well!

For £10 you'll get the occasionally visitor
For £7 you may get the same person come back every now and again

And for a £5 you'll get loads turning up every week.

£5 would be ideal, but then I presume the overheads for such a place mean the price needs to be up nearer the £10 mark. I think PDA was £8 for none members, however I managed to run one set of tyres for around 8-10 weeks, at Moto Arena the tyre decision will be vital in my opinion to keep costs sensible.

Does anyone have videos or images of the 2wd heats / finals?

Gareth

My mate is going to put some more footage on later tonight. Any rubber tyre then everybody will be in the same boat, and you can use up all your worn tyres.

Re the price, this place is going to get better. PDA was £8, how much is Taplow?

im working on the club membership side of things (no not £700.00 memberships either!)
once the club membership is in place £8.00 for members and £5.00 for under 16's will be enough to keep the heaters running (just)
who knows it may even include some sort discount off the burgers i saw so many of you scoffing

i need a cheap 5.5t to keep up with springer too

Edit;

Janos, Andre has been building all day

You do run a good meeting Janos, and yes your track is good. There's no reason why the Moto-Arena cant have a proper indoor track, and if they build a load more jumps then it will be. The only difference is they have tarmac instead of carpet.

One advantage with the motor arena is space, so they can have a track with ten or more jumps and features.

As Matt said on the night, he wants people's advise and ideas. He comes on this site and i'm sure he's looking forward to hearing them.

Just a note on tyres.I ran a slighty used set of green ballistic buggy's on my Ansmann 2wd.
They were good in the first two heats but as soon as they got baldy they went downhill and fast,i think the worn schumacher yellow spikes are the way to go.

You said you had pins on? ............ spikes are a lot better on tarmac than pins

Edit;

Janos, Andre has been building all day
Cheap burgers is good, £8 is no different to anywhere else in our area so that's all good, the cheap 5.5 I offered you on the night you numpty

And get that digital camera charged and show us the pictures of Andre's handywork ........... it's been 4 days since our visit, if he's only built one a day we should now have 6 in total (see I can count). Corner table top would be good, have you filled those pipes with sand yet?, have you paid a visit to Carpet City?

I'll bring the motor with me AGAIN on Tuesday and you can take that gay 10.5 out and put a real one in

Get those Mini Z's charged and ready for Tuesday, you never know, some of these boys might have a go (discount?) while they are waiting to go out again. Why were the simulators not working?, even if a couple of people have a go it's all money to the Moto Arena!!!!!!
What about a discount voucher, something along the lines of: A go on any simulator, 8 minutes on the Mini Z track, burger and chips/drink for a tenner? .......... what's the point of all that stuff sitting there idle while we sit charging?, make it pay it's way.

Pictures pictures pictures please ............. only way forward is to get people interested, we need proof, let everyone see what's been achieved while we're not there

Told you.... Pins are the way to go

(as long as you dont mind being lapped a bit )

Cant wait to see some pictures, should be a few more down on Tuesday if you put some up.

When will MA get its own section on here? Would make it loads easier for people to see when things are going on...

As soon as it gets some decent promotion and the extra track features it will do well and get a bit of credibility... which are all it needs.
