£750 for me on an R6 0-60 in 3 secs (not with me on it though) and 40mpg what more can i ask for.

Just a shame it like sitting on a razor blade after an hour.

i was looking at the audi S8 the other week, i also had a look at the virtually unknown passatt W8 this is very understated and a wolf in sheeps clothing

Lee if you have any questions about the S8 just ask as i've had mine for about 2 years now & its a truly awesome car! nothing else on the road like it!
all alloy construction is stiff & light, very good handling on the sports suspension, 360 effortrless bhp from the V8, awesome grip from the torsen quattro, lovely interior with silk napppa leather all electric recaros, great sounding Bose stereo, icy cold AC, massive boot for racing gear................
the list could go on
when i went to look at mine i was very underwhelmed with the test drive as they don't feel that fast during a short test drive & i wasn't sure f i was ready for an auto gearbox.
well after only a few days i knew i had made the right decision
they just do everything so well & thery're so composed while they do it!
the car is big at over 5m long but it shrinks round you as you drive it & it goes round corners like a hot hatch & can outdrag everything but the really fast stuff off the lights
it has good road presence too as people nearly always get out of your way quickly when you roll up behind them!
its a very safe car due to the construction & when released they were the first car on british roads with 6 airbags, the later ones have even more!
there is so much technology in the car & its design that isn't apparent til you look under the skin, i've seen it described on a car forum as the car brunel would have designed! lol

the car is built around an all alloy spaceframe chassis, found you a pic

i wanted one ever since i saw Ronin, but £70,000 was a bit steep for me then, i had to wait til they came down under ten grand. for some reason people are terified of any big cars 2nd hand & luckily for us depreciation brings them down to real world prices & once down to 7 grand or so there isn't much further they will really fall as the S badge will always ensure some desirability

i thought about changing mine a little while back but when i looked at my options everything else would just seem a bit crap in comparison!
i looked at an A6 estate 2.7 twin turbo but at 100kilos heavier & 100BHP less it would be a tad disappointing, a deiesel would be even worse, although better on fuel.

cons for S8 ownership, car is very big & can be a pain to park, gets through fuel pretty quick, can be expensive to maintain unless you're in the trade like me! although mine has been awesomely reliable!

pros, big fast surefooted safe well equipped full spec reasonably exclusive etc
its different to everything else out there & way more capable!

where else can you drive a £70,000 car for everyday money?

as for economy i have seen 27mpg on a run before when driving sensibly!
but as i do mainly short journeys (4 miles to work) and i don't hang about i seem to average about 17mpg
not too bad considering that includes some 150 plus bursts LOL
