Actualy, the Orion is better than the CC Mamba, especialy as the Orion/LRP/Nosram/Nokak/GM motors are legal. You could run the Trinity motor without problems on the Mambe, but take your laptop with you if you want to adjust it,.

Uhh Oh!!

Look out.. as if it wasn't bad enough having James on Oople now Dave and Pete are on aswell

Great to here you guys are coming back to the fold. It's always cool to here from the old skool crew.

We are planning a Welsh Indoor GP for off-road this winter in Caldicot, plans are for it to be October or November, you'd all be most welcome (as long as you've got a BRCA license of course.. looks towards Dave)

How do Craig, hows things?

I'd be tempted with the Caldicot event as well, would be like a blast from the past. Still the same old carpet there?

I know the Orion is legal and the Mamba isnt but the speed on the 5700 is quicker than anything I have previously driven. If the Orion is as quick then I will buy one, but I doubt it will be somehow. Trinity does work as well with my esc but the LRP/Nosram are sensored and dont work so pity on that. Mind you I will buy the tekin brushless when it has been sorted and released and then I can use the lot.

Hi James, Dave

Thanks for the props, been having a good run the last couple of years and Dan has been doing ace. The git raped me twice at Bury and I was powerless to stop him.

Welsh GP is still in the planning, but should be good. Still in the same place in Caerwent but we bought a load of Prima Track carpet a couple of years ago so no more of that tatty crap. We've also got AMBrc now aswell.

Craig, well when me and dave do appear for the future penned in event we most probably will get lapped big time by Dan.

I suppose its revenge time for all the times that he was lapped. But then again I couldnt care less and just want to have a giggle and see if I can make it to the end of the race without breaking anything.

Maybe Dave and I could have a competition between us and see who crashes less hehehehe

Is the surface super grippy still, i know its new but the last time i raced there (1999 - I think you were watching the final) it was megga grippy. Has the grip made it better or worse?

I've already popped along to Caldicot to check it out a few weeks back. Went along with Lloyd Fennel who's also thinking about taking it back up again.
Great idea, let's see how many people we can bring out of retirement shall we?
PS I'm only teasing James

IF Dan comes... He lives up North now.

It is very grippy, if you run new minipins it is a challenge to keep the car on all fours.

There'll be a few jumps and a bit of slippy and maybe one of our old skool wall rides

I have the Mamba Max 5700 an goes like a 10 double with a fraction more accelaration but thats undergeared and not legal, so what is your opinion on the LRP/Orion motors?
Sorry for the reply James, I meant to reply and then forgot.

I am fortunate enough to be sponsored by Novak Electronics now so my views may be biased. I run the GTB speedo and Velociti brushless motors (6.5 2wd and 5.5 4wd). It's difficult for me to say how pleased I am with these, they are proper ace. My 5.5 in 4wd on the weekend was rediculous down the straight (as were others) and I had a smile on my face all practice.

It's not that brushless is faster than brushed cos you can buy as much speed as you want in any car, it's the total absence of maintenance. If a brushed motors gets hot it might need a skim and brush every run or regular anyway through the day. Brushless, as long as it doesn't thermal just let it cool and you're away again. In Belgium you could just run the car continously as it never got that hot!

I don't want to send this down the Blue vs Orange route, I do believe though that Novak motors (and speedos) are VERY reliable indeed as several of the people in my region who have borrowed my 7.5 when their motor has died on them can testify.

Orion motors look good but I have no experiance with them.

Servo wise I usually run KO still but have borrowed a slightly slower (deliberatly) Airtronics to try in the 2wd as the 0.06 KO was too much I felt.

That may be Jon Leonard you're thinking of as he was really good when he was young..... then went off the rails which was a real shame.

Jon Leonard... rails were completely off with him.

Tucker, last I heard, was working for Sony.

Dan

Cheers for that. Yes my mamba 5700 was bought for no maintenance so I can get more practice, but its so quick that i cant open it up.

Im gonna try a brsuhed motor, and see what the difference is. But if I get the chance I guess the orion is going to be tried as I cant use sensored motors with my esc.

KO, what KO in 4wd? Im waiting for my friend in Singapore to send me my Sanwa ERG VRX (I think thats what its called) with a blue heat sink to match the rest of my car. But in the mean time I managed to get a Futaba 9402 and thats roughly the same as a KO1001, so isnt bad, but has a lot more strength behind it so not a problem steering.

Any luck with the info on the Optima, I hope it helped.

Jon Tucker. The original team toilet driver hehe. Kidderminster (when I got accused of putting a tent up the top of a 30ft fence, and Stu Wood almost pissed himself laughing at me after I got a visit from the BRCA chairman and secretary - nothing new there, as i rgot egular visits hehehe) he won the 2wd National convincingly against the rest.

Jon Leonard, any one watch porridge, as i heard a romour that he is having fun picking up soap in the showers somewhere.

95 welsh GP. Which was the one the day after the radio race car event? was that 95. Craig you remember my lazer where you painted pink and yellow design, when was that done?.

I know I won the event against the radio race car mob that made the A and B finals the day before the caldicot indoor event, where Dave made the B hehehe, and was wondering what event that was.

The Welsh GP i'm thinkin of was sponsored by TTech and Cliff Evans i think supported it with A.R.S...... he was helping me out at the time with motors.

It was outdoors but i can't remember the track.......
