Nice. But does it hold? Looked a little weak, but perhaps there's more to it than the eye can see...

BTW. Where did you buy that carbon top deck?

It holds up very well. I made the topdeck my self out of 3mm CF. The nut is M4 so it will do the jobb as well.
I got the CF from www.fullforcerc.com. Nice price and quality. I am going to make a chassis too but their CF sheet are too short. Missing 1 cm ín lenght.
Thinking of sending Fibrelyte a mail.

Looked very nice. I have a friend that is making a couple of batterystraps in carbon for me. But looking at making a top deck as well.. Was also considering a chassie, but I reckon I'll have to pay him a bunch of money to make it so I guess I'll be waiting for a release from atomic or 3-Racing.

Unless someone on here has the skills to pull it off within a reasonable price.

You do that .

I have another project here on oople where I made myself a 2wd mid ultima and it works great. I made the chassis like this. Took a 8 mm MDF and drew up the layout on that. Simply copied the holes on to that by putting the original chassis on top and drilled. All holes exactly were I wanted them. Then I put that mould on the cf and did it all over again. Perfect result. Applied the same principal when I made the topdeck but this time i did not use a mdf. Just strapped the original tight to the CF.

The chassis for the Lazer is not necessary but it looks cool and I am going to use either the Azarashi Tateego or Womoog shell so I have an undertray to protect the inside and bottom. Just love those Azarashis

Be careful of making the car too stiff ... part of why the ZX5-FS (and indeed the Yokomo B-Max4) work so well compared to the others out there is the plastic chassis providing a bit more flex and thus making a more forgiving car to drive!!!!

I personally don't like cars that are too stiff, always prefer a moulded chassis over a CF one!!

I am with you Roger. Have the same opinion. If I make one it will be out of 2mm cf and I am thinking if making the topdeck even more narrow since it stiffened the car up more than standard. Wanted Cf to be able to use the lipo retainer. But If the Azarashi shells fits well and the undertray to I wont make a new chassis. Going to test with my friends shell this weekend.

Thought I my workshop web cam was switched off Chris ... I best go and put some pants on if your peeking around

Nothing wrong with fiberglass parts to trial things, never sell it to the RC snobs though as only carbon will do for them
