you didn't waste any time adapting to the B4 Nick! How many times did you lap the guys in the bottom heat!?!!

Thought yesterday was a good day, there was some small problems but i actually really like the 'Real Off Road' nature of the track.
I think with some help they could develop the track into something great.
Racing was really close in the A-final and the surface made for some great passing moves (Mr Spicer).
Was good to see Mr Goodall racing again, Nationals next year Nick ???
Looking forward to the next meeting now.

Yep, totally agree with Spenner, (apart from he should buy a new racing 'outfit') Excellent track, with some small mod's will be a brilliant venue. Nice and close racing to, nothing apart from a small error seperating the A final to the B.......

I loved the B4 Jim, really really pleased me with how easy it was - it just worked the second i threw it down! I must say though, Lee changed one small thing for the 3rd leg and the car was even better, i really liked it then.

I felt bad for the guys in the heat, i'm actually an F5 so can't expect to be placed higher, but they probably felt their runs were compromised through having to move out of the way, other times i'd get held up so nobody really benefits in that situation but i understand why it has to be done.

It was good to go back to the old skool type of racing on grass though, really took me back to the old days and the finals were enjoyable. I was gutted at finishing 3rd though having been 2nd in all three legs

Jon - Well done on Tyre choice, i had been weighing up step-pins from Rd1 but probably wouldn't have tried them until i saw your car!! My car was still lifting the front wheels everywhere in Leg3 after they'd done 5 runs!

i really like it there too. The ground has some great natural contours. great effort from the hosts, nice approachable guys. Hopefully they will be fully used to the software etc for the 4wd round. Only minor gripe was i thought they could have spread the drivers out into 5 heats instead of 4 as two heats had the full 10 drivers which made it slightly congested on track.
Once the stagger was increased though it went fairly smooth.

looking forward to the 4wd round.

Cheers Nick, i really enjoyed yesterday as i think a lot did. The track, as others have mentioned, is on the bumpy side but has some really intersting off camber corners which makes it challenging.

The finals were very close, its good to see you getting up to speed (imagine what you could do with a CR !! (how long until i'm shot down on that one i wonder))! You've got to be a challenger for the F2 trophy this year.

Spenner, was close especially in leg one, got to be another contender for the F2s i would have thought.

Absolutely ! Just need to get mine (Jim's?) running now model shops need a pizza style delivery service, deliver within an hour and if it isn't hot at the door get your money back Amazing how much some odd bits add up to though, allow for 60ish... spend nearly 150

What a good days racing we all had at Silverstone, veryverylucky with the weather, warm & sunny all day, great track, grass wearing to clay, well run and good food all day, rain in the week before and after, the surface stayed good and step pins on the rear went well.

A few (to many) pictures here:

Cheers Nick, think a lot of these were down to Jordan, but as you can see this is the same shot, I like this one myself, Tony Truman edging out of shot, Kevin Lee outside & yourself inside on the corner. I think thats how the day finished, Truman first, Lee second and Goodall third, not bad for first time out with the B4.

What you running for 4 wheel drive and is you coming to Stotfold on the 3rd ?

Great pictures there !! are you going to be taking some at stotfold too?
The day finished with me winning from tony and nick but it could have gone anyway in the last leg, nick crashed on the last lap and let me through. I think if he had won the leg, he would have taken the meeting as we would have all been on three points, and he was going for a faster time!

Sorry Kev, thought it may have been a different result, know it was close, and yes it could have gone either way, what great racing. Problem is when you are involved in the lower heats (C almost D) your attention is diverted. Expect to be at Stotfold, we like racing there, and yes, expect to add pictures at all regionals we get to.

It certainly was good racing, i really enjoyed it and was the first competitve event i've done for a fair while so i was just pleased to be mixing it up really, but the B4 was great first time out - couldn't fault it really although Lee did set it up so probably had a big factor in it.....

If i do go to Stotfold i'll be running the old Cat 2000 EC, i've just fitted some associated shocks but it still doesn't feel quite right and i've got far too much droop so may need to fiddle about this week.......

Hope to see you there anyway.

Think you could be right Kev, but any idea what set-up you/we used to run on it? I can't remember at all!

Thats far to far in the distant past for me to remember a set up.

I'd probably do what you are doing and make a guess from how it feels on the bench and go from there.
