No, but i could get it adjusted to allow it. It's miles over weight and the weight is exactly where i want it. I also put a bit of flashing behind the cells instead of the foam.

run it under the cells- ive made two custom battery bars to hold the lipo down

lead flashing would be better as it wouldnt raise the cells up as much
X factory drivers are runnig it under the servo as well

Thumbs up handling

Hi ben.

I found it to be nothing like a car with the motor at the back. because i went across the the chassis with the lipo, i found it to under and was like a new learning point for me.
i'm trying to get it to come out of corners quicker at the moment so i've fitted longer shock rods to the rear in the hope that it will let the car lean into a corner and then square up with-out the breaking away. i'll keep you posted if you like.

cheers.

Thumbs up losi shock's setup for mid-motor

going from standard spring's, i have now changed to using flu yellows at the rear with a 35w oil. i have removed the limiters from inside the shocks to aid more shock travel into corners, i've moved the shock right out on the tower. i am using the mid hole on the wish bone, i find this helps keeping it planted!!!!

at the front, i've fitted blue's with a 40w oil and have moved the shock right in on the tower still using middle hole on wish-bone. there are no limiters fitted.

camber is 2deg at the front and 1 at the rear. 1 deg toe-in at front.
i've got a 3deg pivot block at the rear, still using standard at the front.
ride height: Wishbones are set paraell. i've got 85grams of weight. my gearing with a 7700kv is 21/78.

hope this helps..

Default modification update

just a quicky to fill you in on the mods.

due to the chassis still flexing a fair bit, i have made a modification using 2.5mm fibreglass. i have cut a piece of fibre glass using a lipo as a out-line marker, this was made to be used as a chassis spine.

i fitted it by drilling a hole at the rear so the support brace holds it in place, before i placed it into position, i used industrial fibre-glass glue on the chassis. (spreading it well for a good bond)

i placed the chassis spine piece on to the fibre-glue then bolted it all back into place. i am amazed by how much more rigid the chassis now feels.
you will never totally stop flex, you can only minimize it!!!

Hi Migsy, I'm the 'very pleasant chap' that told you about the lead weights in the bulkhead!
After seeing your car at Cobra and seeing Atomic Carbon's new car, I was inspired to take the dremel to my CR.
Armed with only a small sheet of alloy and a sheet of nylon style plastic I created this:

It's still a work in progress and I haven't run it yet, but I put the alloy plate from the two gearbox screws all the way to the front of the battery slot. It was left wide so that the 4 battery posts would screw through it and the chassis holdong them together. Another alloy plate forms the battery retainer and I've used some brass tube to form a brace between the top of the gearbox and the battery. It seems pretty rigid, but once I'm happy I may bond the alloy to the chassis.

I also managed to reverse the motor plate, took a few goes but I've managed to do it without modifying the gearbox (other than two holes) or the layshaft. When I next strip it down I'll post some pictures on how I did it.
Hopefully see you at Cobra soon.
Pete

Are you modding the gearbox? it will go in reverse other wise, i say that because your using a sensored motor and speedo which cant be wired out of phase to reverse it .

I have reversed it which is why I said "I also managed to reverse the motor plate, took a few goes but I've managed to do it without modifying the gearbox (other than two holes) or the layshaft"

Just need to tidy up the plates and brace a bit, possibly get them redone in carbon, but am wary of spending too much as I may as well buy a CR2 when it's released.
