JV used to argue with his engineers on car set-up, he wanted it un equal side to side so he 'could go round the outside' of someone - point proven

Great stuff!

I always say that about Hill. People forget how late he came into racing (23). Most F1 drivers have raced in some format before their teens!!

The red light is there to show no entry and the flashing blue lights to warn the drivers faster cars are on the straight(or traffic). Normally used more in a place like donnington park for example where you pull out on to the racing line.

f1

in my opinion is ripping its self in half is so hooked up on rules (for safety i agree rules are needed) but i think in the this case the cars could have entered the track with in the white line same as they have to adhear to while racing.
i dont see how it can be dangerous to enter when the cars are doing 80mph but its not for them to enter at race speed which could be up around the 150mph mark or more

i am really getting fed up with f1 i think they need to change the cars back to more mechanical grip get rid of pit stops full stop (would save teams a fortune) fixed limited testing and engines to last longer ie made not to there limits and brakes that work when there cool,

and of course cars that dont self distruct with a 10 mph knock at the end of the pit lane f1 is just so borring after the first 10 laps 2 hours is far to long 40 min race like moto gp is spot on.

i think im going to write to the fia about hamiltons 10 spot drop yes he may have been a little stupid but kimi was parked in the wrong place in my opinion i think worse has been done and people dont get penalties.

maclaren and hamilton are being hit hard no matter what they do he is im my opinion the best driver we have seen in a decade i think even shumacher would have struggled to beat him in the same paced car.

i think ferarri realise this and complain to the fia when lewis has a wee 5 minutes from the start just to see if they can get an advantage they have always been dirty racers as a team and this rubs off on there drivers even massa is become a more agressive driver like kimi.

may be they should find a way to make all the cars based on one design i think we would see the drivers come through built in different factorys but to a more specific design or poss 2 or 3 designs ie 1 for cornering 1 for stright line speed and 1 good for both so depending on how your engine performed thats how you decide what chassis you run.

this is just my opinion great thread Andy

That has nothing to do with Hamiltons penalty - if Kimi wasn't there then Lewis would have either driven straight out of the pit lane or overshot the pit lane line - either way he would've been instantly disqualified like Montoya and Massa were when they did it.

He was deemed to have caused an "avoidable accident" so his penalty is well deserved - Rosberg got the same penalty too so I don't think the FIA were playing favorites.

Bit early in his career for that sort of talk - afterall he was in the best car last year - not too many drivers begin their F1 career in the best car, and then fail to do well.

Villenuve finished 2nd and 1st in his first few years at Williams - never looked good again.
Same can be said about Hill - after leaving Williams he looked ordinary too.
