Hi Kev

It's a bonded rotor in the motor - I have checked the sensors as mentioned and the lights illuminated so I guess they are OK. I will adjust the neutral width as suggested by DCM and run it on Sunday to see how it goes.

Many thanks for all the help with this.

Chris

All updated on my Tekin RS Pro with a 7.5 LRP X11. Not using turbo at the moment and running in dual mode.

ok, this is going to be guess work..... but,

motor timing - 0'
Sensored only
timing - 30
boost - 10
end rpm - approx 9000
start rpm - approx 4000
ramp - 1
neutral width - 8
throttle profile - 3
drag brake - 0 to 5

That should give plenty of RPM with a smooth power band, if you want the motor to feel more punchy, then reduce the end RPM by 2000.

I hope that helps, it is all new at the moment, give it a few weekends, and there should be more knowledge about.

Nice one, thanks.

Whats the idea behind the 'turbo delay' though?

once you hiy full throttle, the esc see's it, there is a delay, and then more timing is added to the motor.

Thats what i figured. I'll try it from 0.7 and take it from there. Its only on the straights i'll be at full throttle so a fairly quick response should be fine.

Thanks

What ESC + motor do you recommend for an Atomic Carbon S2?

Normally I use a Vortex 7.5 but would like to try a Tekin Combo.

Thanks

Guys, if you plan on using this software with the V203 in Sensored only mode use little to NO timing on the motor and little to NO timing on timing boost to start out. This software creates a HUGE amount of torque and rpm so you will likely drop a few pinions on top of it.

SO start SLOW and find the setup.

I've dropped to 21/81 on a B4 for the moment with the new software running in dual mode.

This is with a sintered 7.5 LRP X11

So with the v203. Where do I start with a 2wd and a 7.5 compared to the v200? Do I need to drop gearing?

if you are running in dual mode, start where you were in v200

I'm using an RX8 with a Novak HV4.5 motor in an E-Revo, it's been going great so far. I'm finding the brake strength / reverse strength being linked a little frustrating though. I've got very aggressive brakes and a very soft reverse, ideally I'd like to turn the brakes down and reverse up. I don't seem to be able to do it though.

Is this possible with the Hot Wire? I noticed on the website that setup sheets contained separate brake and reverse strength options.

Seems strange they are so mismatched by default, I struggle to gently apply the brakes even with a tiny stick movement, then I need quarter stick just to get it moving in reverse. Going forwards is great, very smooth and plenty of control.

I did wonder if the timing on the motor might affect the difference in feel from forward to reverse.

You can simply change reverse strenght and increase it's power. Same goes for decreasing the brake strength.

Timing does affect the speed slightly but not as much as you'd think.

Hi there,

I´m considering the aquisition of a new speedo for my Associated B4. I´m currently using a GM Genius 120 with CS 9.5T motor, but i´m moving this combo to my Xray T3.
I have some options... Speed Passion, Tekin RS Pro or another GM.

I´m considering the RS Pro. Besides Tekin motors, what other brand do you recomend ? Can i use a Speed Passion V3 7.5T ?

Thanks.

yes, you can use SP, most of the other motors work too.

Hi

I am looking for some information on a Tekin Esc

I have purchased a Tekin RS with V200 software.

We race on carpet, size 30m X 16m.

I use a 13.5turn Novak brushless motor.

I would like to know the set-up for the speed controller and the gearing?

James

not to sure on the gearing, there should be some setup sheets on the Tekin website, but I would say.

Motor timing - 0
Sensored mode
timing boost 25
Turbo Boost 15
Neutral Width - 8
Throttle profile - 3 to 5

That should give you a good basic setting
