Default Ring Gear

Is this normal??? It seems to happen to the front diff especially if we land it a tad hard on the front wheels.

I say "we" as my mate has done 2 sets now..

Can anything be done???

So when is the machined one coming out again?

By the way, Pardon the phone camera..

I've run the 2010 spec DEX410 for almost a year now and competed in the entire regional and national series with a club race at least once a week on most surfaces and never chipped a tooth like that...

Ive had a few teeth break like that, my first set from an original 410 lasted about a year, some after that, not as long - in my experience its either

- mesh, despite what I've been told I've found the later gearbox halves, the ones that come with the centre driveshaft pin washers on the plastic tree(from the 410r), need more spacers on the none teeth side to get the same mesh as the earlier ones.

- Centre shaft gearbox bearings worn

- Slipper too tight

or a little bit of everything above!

Good luck! - Sam

looking at the wear marks on all your teeth if you look at the ones up the side of the diff you can see they are more warn the further in the tooth you go as the end of the tooth there is a tip, is there diff spacers like in the preds to mesh the tooth properly?? or may be the calculated bevel angle is slightly out to the drive bevel gear thus causing un even wear, this may happen in some cases due to production tollerences being to high, just a thought

I've done that to the fronts, when going from indoors 13.5 wood block, to 6.5 on Astro, forgetting to calm the brakes down, touching the brakes at the end of the straight and lifting the arse off the ground, verry crunchy after that. Just to confirm the fact I did it again the following week. A TRUE professional would do ot a third time just to make sure.

I've done endo's through mega brakes and never had this happen. that was running a 5.5 too hehe.

I usually snap drive pins before anything else goes

Tried that, i can´t put items in my basket that aren´t in stock. An error occours and it asks if i have typed in the number correctly although i only pushed the "buy" button on the DEX410V3 site. Same as with the DEX210.

Any other suggestions how we can check when the cars are available again?

there are two factors causing this,

1. the mesh isnt right.
2. the brakes are to high.

had same problem, sorted both out with the help of skelding and never had the problem since.

I'm very hard on the brakes and I've done a few myself. When replacing them just pause for a second and think about is it worth the extra £7.80 for the machined ones. The normal ones are rubbish by comparison.

I've got the machined ones and never looked back.

Check the bearings on the bevel gear to, the spacing has to be right else the gear will move around, even if you have the crown shimmed correct.
